FULL TIME HOUSE KEEPER WANTED
Longview, a residential senior retirement community, is currently seeking a qualified candidate for a full time first shift housekeeper.
Responsible for assisting with resident room housekeeping, and cycle cleaning for Ithacare facility. Other duties as assigned. Adheres to Ithacare risk management practices.
JOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works under the supervision of the head housekeeper and fills in for housekeeper in her absence. The position requires the responsibility of general housekeeping duties and cycle cleaning. In absence of the housekeeper will assist with the scheduling of housekeeping duties and purchasing of housekeeping supplies.Performs general cleaning of resident rooms in accordance with established schedule.Works with an orderly schedule for cleaning. Insures that immediate supervisor is informed of changes in schedule and notified of specific problems. Notifies immediate supervisor of necessary supplies to order. Helps in cycle cleaning (thorough periodic cleaning) the Ithacare facility in accordance with organized schedule.Develops and implements practices to minimize risk of personal injury, loss of life, damage to the building, furnishings and equipment at Ithacare.Participates in all pertinent risk management training and follows all Ithacare and department procedures as outlined in Ithacare Personnel Policy and Procedure Manual and the Policy Manual. Other duties as assigned.
Participates in all pertinent risk management training and follows all Ithacare and department specific risk management procedures as outlined in the Ithacare Personnel Policy and Procedure Manual and the Resident Services Policy and Procedure Manual. Must follow Emergency Disaster Policy and Procedure included in fire drill procedures. Adheres to Ithacare’s risk management procedures regarding reporting accidents/injuries immediately to supervisor and by submitting the appropriate accident report form. Must participate in mandatory annual in-servicing / review of Emergency Disaster Plan.
Must pass a background check and pre-employment physical including PPD testing. Must be able to work as a team member, be able to work and delegate as necessary with other employees.
Compensation dependent upon experience and responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION;
The assistant housekeeper must be neat, personable, organized and able to work with residents. Person must have the physical stamina to perform heavy cleaning and must have the ability to lift, push and/or pull up to and including 70 pounds. Must relate positively and work effectively with other people in a team situation.
Housekeeping experience required preferably in an institutional setting.
