Career based. Fast paced, interaction with entire hospital personnel from Board of Trustees, Administration and line staff. Typical day or operations supply ordering, supervising of shipping/receiving and Central Supply. Research pricing, trouble shoot for department heads,meet with vendors, Address A/P issues and constant phone.
Learned much from – more... involvement with committees ie, Infection Control, Quality Improvement, Safety, Product Evaluation and Forms.
Managed staff of Store room, Central and SPD.
Co-workers are hardworkers and most are loyal and represent hospital well on surface.
Hardest part of job is lack of knowledge of senior leadership and support. Working as liaison for Vendors and Finance. Dealing with Finance's inability to prioritize aging reports.
Most enjoyable part of job is helping departments receive in a timely manner the equipment/supplies they need to succeed and being able to research those things that might help the hospital with its mission statement. – less
