Student Worker
Student Worker (Former Employee), Wilmington, CASeptember 26, 2014
Pros: study and work at same place
Cons: minimum salary
I've been a student worker at L.A. Harbor College for a year. Staff were super friendly, nice, and professional. I am not familiar with personal advancement, but jobs were pretty much secured (unless your a student worker). I enjoyed interacting with new students and great staff.

Being a student worker at trade tech is fun and educational.
Student Worker (Former Employee), Los Angeles, CAJanuary 21, 2014
Pros: being a student worker, you have access to a wealth of knowledge
Cons: the monetary compensation is not so great
I enjoy working in an atmosphere that is so rich in technical knowledge. The machine shop instructors who supervise the student workers are very generous when it comes to instructing the students on new ways of doing things that we can not learn from a text book and will prove valuable later in our careers.

Generally quiet, pleasant work environment.
Library Technician/Library Media Tech. Assistant (Former Employee), Los Angeles, CAAugust 30, 2012
Pros: decent medical, dental, visual benefits, pension plan.
Cons: nothing major. old building had roof leaks, but has been replaced with nice new building.
Learned about processing new books and periodicals, and removing obsolente books, including data base updating. Supervisors were mostly easy-going, and co-workers were mostly pleasant. Occasionally patrons could be somewhat difficult when they were unable or unwilling to pay fines. Business was rarely hectic in the evening, mostly easy work most days – more... and nights. Many interesting books and magazines in collection of over 130,000 books. – less
