LAPFCU is a very good company to work for. The company really cares about its employees, provides excellent benefits and puts members before profits. The coworkers are a nice group of people and as with most companies some are a little more difficult than others.
The key takeaway is that this is a small to mid sized company, so the opportunity to advance is very limited. This is also the type of company that is slow to change and any change can be painful for both progressives and passives alike. Essentially, it is an ideal place if you just want to do the same routine and are ok with not advancing in your career.
LAPFCU is like a big family, employees are treated well and do have say in many things to an extent. Members are definitely put first but sometimes hold too much sway for things that at times contradict policies and procedures.
Lastly, the facilities are old, many of the systems are antiquated and some people need to move on or retire. Things can improve if the E-team are willing to commit to holding people accountable and be willing to invest some serious capital to bringing the credit union to the 21st century.
