Beautiful facility
Clinical Supervisor (Former Employee), Paducah, KYSeptember 6, 2013
My plan was to work there for the rest of my career. However, despite being told all these 'wonderful' things about me, I was terminated unjustly. It appears this happens frequently once you start advancing in the facility.

Fun to work with various people at a young age.....
Patient Transporter (Former Employee), Camden, NJAugust 26, 2013
Pros: good work environment, friendly people, good workplace team ethics
Cons: not enough pay, not enough hours
I was responsible for taking patients from their rooms to various testing facilities in the hospital. My coworkers were great people easy to get along with and worked well with one another. The hardest part of my job was the money could have been better after 2 years i was at 8.50. I enjoyed meeting and conversing with the many people who came In and – more... out of the hospital on a daily basis. Great experience dealing with people. – less

I have learned a lot at Lourdes. They some older nurses that are great at teaching you the tricks of the trade. Even though they may have a full load of patients they are willing to take time out of their day to help you. My co-workers work together to get tasks done. I feel I always have someone that I can go to help me with a task or think a situation – more... through with. The hardest part of my job is losing patients that I have come to know very well. The most enjoyable part of my job is that I am able to touch, save, and change lives. – less

nursing/case management
Hospice home care- Case Manager (Current Employee), Vestal, NYAugust 12, 2013
Pros: specialty, rewarding, great co-workers
Cons: management, high caseloads, poor programing, difficult to balance personal and work life due to excessive overtime and long days
A typical day includes 3 hospice patient visits or 1 admission plus a routine home visit. Every day is different and may include crisis calls, prn visits including death visits. Typical RN case manager caseload is 12-15 patients. Complete assessment of patients care in the home, hospital or nursing home. Comfort care management, manage services in the – more... home. Use nursing skills daily to provide complete patient care in the home. Documentation crutial but programs used at this company are behind in technology, slow and not user friendly. EMR used is time consuming and takes up most of your days work due to program used. Management is not dependable and out number the nurses that actually work in the field as case managers. They are not supportive to their field staff. Co-workers are wonderful, compassionate and dedicated. They stick together and assist each other whenever possible. Gifted group of co-workers that truely care about their patients and what they do as healthcare workers. Hardest part of the job is balancing love for a specialty and management that is not supportive to their employees needs with high caseloads. Most enjoyable part is taking care of the patients and their families who are truely appreciative and thankful for the care they receive. – less

Productive place to work
Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant (Former Employee), Willingboro, NJJuly 30, 2013
Pros: friendly staff members
Cons: early start
A typical day would start at 5am. I would do my morning rounds on patients whose Dr. ordered blood work to be done. After completing my rounds I would go back to the lab and enter the specimens in the system and place them in the correct department to be tested. While in the lab I would enter other specimens that came to the lab from other areas of – more... the hospital. The hardest part of the job honestly was starting at 5am. However, I enjoyed interacting with the patients and working with my coworkers. Everyone was extremely helpful, patient, and friendly. – less

Truly patient-centered care
Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Former Employee), Camden, NJJuly 17, 2013
My co-workers and members of management worked together like a well oiled machine to provide the best patient care possible. Typically, I would see 5-7 patients daily. The most difficult part of the job was knowing some patients were terminal. However, the most enjoyable part was getting to know these patients and helping to comfort them.
