Great place and people to work with.
Sorter (Current Employee), Hudsonville, MIAugust 5, 2014
It is a great place to be part of. They serve the community in ways that are very helpful for those in need and I am happy to be able to volunteer there.
I come in the morning and help them sort the donations that are received during the day. I bring the donations to their various locations to be sold. I also help load the donations on the mission truck – more... that comes almost daily. I enjoy working with all the volunteers there. I am a hard worker and very committed to the job. The hardest part of the job is probably all the lifting but I am physically able to do it so it isn't truly that hard. – less

Good company to work for, however, salary is low and advancement is limited
Workers Compensation and Liability Claims Adjuster (Former Employee), Columbia, MDJune 30, 2014
The company is good to work for, however, the salary is low compared to other similar jobs in the area and advancement is limited. This is a small company so all management have been around since the start of the company. There was not much chance for job advancement. The coworkers were very friendly to work with.

I also assist with various other accounting and legal functions such as check writing, recording checks and amounts that come in, account verification, opening/closing accounts and date – more... certification. awesome opportunity
Receptionist, Legal Asst (Former Employee), Talladega, ALJune 26, 2013
Pros: the lawyers
Since I was born, my mother worked at Love Law Firm. She was the head secretary and very much more to the lawyers that founded the business. I was given an awesome opportunity to work for this firm for a while before the business closed down. The firm was open for over 40 years and I am thankful that my mother and I was given the chance to work for – more... these wonderful people. On a typical day at work I answered the phones and booked appointments. Clients would come in throughout the day and I would take care of all of their questions and refer them to see the lawyers. The hardest part about the job was dealing with angry clients, but you see that anywhere you go. It is a part of life. Fortunately, it is a part of life I enjoy because the friendly clients outweighed the angry clients. Everyday was an adventure there and I truly miss the lawyers and working for their firm. – less

A day in Tonya's world
Document Clerk (Current Employee), Oklahoma City, OKApril 23, 2013
Pros: no interruptions
Cons: no face contact
I always look forward to going to work. I even enjoy going to my office at home and beginning my work day. Most people aren't disciplined to work at home and I feel I'm the opposite because if I were allowed I'd work into the wee hours of the morning. I get so focused it's like I don't think about anything except finishing my project. I do have to say – more... I miss the interaction with people one on one in certain ways, but it's interesting working with co workers through instant messaging. I haven't once picked the phone up to speak with anybody I work with. It's all done through email and instant messaging these days. I will also say what I enjoy the most about any job I've ever had was always building relationships and helping people feel better about themselves. – less

I love working for my local church!
Manager (Volunteer) - Technical (Current Employee), Bronx, NYFebruary 7, 2013
Pros: wonderful people, atmosphere
Cons: really
I volunteered for this job because I wanted to help my church, and service in ways which I was knowledgeable. I love setting up the technical services (i.e. computers, AV equipment, etc) and seeing the result either during the worship services or during other meetings.

Great place to call a job
Sound Technician (Former Employee), New York, NYNovember 27, 2012
Pros: great work environment and staff
Cons: not much pay, no benefits, work hours
For the most part, each shift was a different experience and setup. I would schedule sound checks with the artists or performers for the night a few days in advance or last minute depending on their availability. During sound check, I would usually begin planning the equipment setup and layout for the event. I learned that most of the time the performers – more... wanted their specific setup that they would normally be accustomed to; and I would have to accommodate them as much possible.

While the night of the main event, I worked with them to maximize the use of LOVE's GSA system by mixing, adjusting levels, EQing, and monitoring; or if it was a live band, I would help them setup, run all the connections to the main mixing console, then mix the live feed. Sometimes for broadcast via internet.

The staff was overall great. More like a family. Starting from the top. The Owner was heavily involved in the operation of the venue.

The hardest part of the job was that I was the only sound tech. I had to do everything before, during, and after all events. Sometimes working with no breaks.

Most enjoyable parts and perk's of that job was the ability to meet so many great talented people.

In 2010 they closed the doors. – less
