I joined Lowes with a good group of educated and motivated individuals who earned a store wide incentive bonus that Lowe's actually paid. Within a year the store was regional store of the year. However... the store "missed" bonus after bonus (by thiiiis much) despite being the hands down best store (of 5) in the immediate area. The management style used by Lowe's is called plantation management. Workers (college degrees preferred) are idiots and never given the benefit of the doubt, nor do they have decision making authority. Between the haranguing by amateurish and juvenile managers, the excuses about the bonuses, the poor pay, the poor pay raises, and the constant squeeze/cutbacks Lowe's puts on the store employees to make it's numbers it just wasn't worth it.

#2407 is morbidly understaffed!!! Department people, the few who actually work, have too much to do. Nobody ever answers the phones. Code 3 and 50 paged constantly, no one helps. Managers are completely useless. The only time there is staffing is when a corporate visit is due. Gotta look good for the company monkeys.

Lowe's 1714 Clearwater, Fl. Since the loss of department management this Lowe's has become a Dysfunctional and poorly managed store. been here for 4-5 years and I have seen 12 plus people quit or get fired on the mourning stock team. One manager tells you one thing another manager tell you another contradicting the other one. The Ipod they give you to use don't work half the time and the box labels are always wrong with items always in the wrong department. They are short staffed or the manager's they did keep don't know how to schedule day people properly. There is always customer's complaining and/or walking out because no answers the call button when it rings. The ones they do have they left they treat different by contently harassing you asking do you have the frieght done when they know they are short handed or they say they need to you work fast even you know the work load is a lot. They monitor you when you go to break or bathroom and they threaten to terminate or suspend you by saying you performance is bad or slow when they know they have women on there cell phone working the cash registers. there is not enough one can say how dysfunctional this store is . you just have to tough it out until they get the right staff.

They don’t have enough staffing but corporate tells them “you’re fully staffed “. The CEO gets huge pay...store staff needs food stamps and free school lunch for their kids. I can’t live on this pay even in a “cheaper “ state.
