Customer Service Associate (Current Employee), Fairview Heights, ILSeptember 28, 2014
Pros: great starting pay, yearly raise, easy work
Cons: horrible management at all levels of the store
It's definitely simple working at Lowe's I have been there for 3 years. Management is terrible at my store. From what I have heard, it isn't the greatest at most stores. But, they do pay well. It can be very fun for the most part. But be prepared for Department managers to be on you for no reason, because they think they are ASM's. I've been there for – more... 3 years for a reason. It can be horrible, but not horrible enough to quit. Give it a shot and see what you think! I guarantee you can get away with quite a bit there. – less

Customer Service Representative (Current Employee), Havertown, PASeptember 27, 2014
Pros: bonus, 401k, healthcare
Cons: short breaks sometimes no breaks
Lowes is great place to work wonderful benefits. I was a cashier and at my store one of the head cashier degrades and humiliates the cashiers.weeks would go by and we had no breaks after standing on our feet for 7 hours. management has a no care attitude. management allowed customers to call cashiers derogatory names the only good thing about this store – more... is the benefits and my co workers – less

Was ok I guess
CSA front end (Former Employee), SacramentoSeptember 27, 2014
Pros: pay i guess
Cons: everything besides that
This is a okay job if you just got out of high school. Everybody there gossips like little kids! The hours suck, and they play favoritism over people who've been there longer and the ones who actually work! If u like excitement every day, this would be an excellent job for u as well! There's nothing like getting robbed every night or getting angry customers – more... on you, because you wouldn't except there stolen credit cards or fake money. Like I said this is not a job for actual grown ups, who are older than 19. – less

Head Cashier (Current Employee), Greensboro, NCSeptember 26, 2014
Pros: part time benefits
Cons: long hours
Lowes is one of the highest paying retail jobs. It is also one of the only companies to offer part time employees benefits. If you show that you want to move up in the company, it will happen for you. There is always a chance of moving up.

A typical day at Lowes:
Lumber Cashier (Current Employee), Arvada, COSeptember 25, 2014
Pros: learn more and more everyday about home projects
Cons: sometimes not having enough associates to assist customers needs
Usually contractors come through the Lumber department and want large orders delivered (most of the time the next day) , so I look up items or walk with them to get item numbers. Proceed to check customer out set up for delivery and they always get 5% percent off using the business account. Most of the time I put money onto the account first (customer – more... using cash or debit card) – less

fun place to work
Lumber Sales Associate (Former Employee), Douglasville, GASeptember 25, 2014
Pros: getting additional experience with learning about building/home repairs
Cons: low pay scale
Daily I was responsible for customer assistance, stocking shelves, and assisting with all departments. Learned about different types of building material and how to assist customers when they had questions regarding needed materials. I worked with several departments at Lowes and enjoyed getting to work with other team mates. I enjoyed the experience – more... working with this company but needed to find a job that I could move up in. – less

Human Resources Manager (Current Employee), Broken Arrow, OKSeptember 25, 2014
Lowe's is extremely focused on taking care of the customer, and empowering the employees to do so is no issue.

Change is consistent but is necessary in our ever changing world where customers shop differently than they did 5-20 years ago.
"Never Stop Improving" is an excellent slogan for Lowe's at this time in the company's history.

The hardest part – more... of the job is to take care of the customers while completing tasks in a timely manner. Being productive at all times is imperative. – less
