Internship ...Quick, fast, friendly professional place to work
Kathryn Olson, MD, GYN, FACOG (Former Employee), Lowell, MA – April 28, 2014
Pros: learing the job
Cons: that it had to end
I was an unpaid inter therefore I was not paid nor entitled to benefits.
Typical DAY:, calling patients to confirm appointments, checked insurance eligibility, checking patients in and out, collecting Co-pays, scheduling new and existing patient's appointments in both E Clinical Works and Digi Charts, answering a 4 line phone system, relaying messages, – more... determining if caller was to be triaged and immediately sent to the nurse for determination, copying and mailing out patient's encounter notes to their Primary Care Physician.
Co-workers were wonderful, friendly and understanding. – less
Registered Nurse (Current Employee), Lowell, MA – April 21, 2014
Pros: great staff, tuition reimbursement
Cons: no breaks, not enough nurses
I work on a very busy and often hectic unit. The team of nurses are excellent, supportive and helpful.I have been able to solidify my nursing skills. The management is very supportive and recognizes your strengths and tries to promote them. The most difficult part of the job is not having enough staff to feel that I can safely do my job. The most enjoyable – more... part of my job is the team of nurses and doctors that I work with, they are GREAT! – less
Work at the hospital maybe but never for The Continuity of Care department!!
Continuity of Care (Current Employee), Lowell, MA – October 29, 2013
Cons: managers, some coworkers
I have had some difficult jobs in my life and worked for and with some difficult people however I have never worked for a department like this...the management is ineffective, unsupportive, inept and punitive. I don't know anyone in the department that feels supported overall.
Registered Nurse Staff - Emergency Room (Current Employee), Lowell, MA – October 17, 2013
Pros: some of my coworkers.
Cons: lack of lunch and lack of support from management.
My typical work day would include seeing a vary of patients in ER and I would new things from the MD and PA that work in the ER. Most of the co workers would help each other out in work but the hardest part was dealing with the changes that management want to change and how things are run.
Secretary/Customer Service (Former Employee), Lowell, MA – August 26, 2013
Pros: great benefits
Professional work environment. The unit I worked on was a Medical/Surgical unit. The doctors and nursing staff were not very helpful to the new employees including myself. The charge nurse was not helpful or friendly at all. I enjoyed meeting the patients and their family members. I loved hearing their survival stories. Management was always in meetings – more... or in their office. Never really checked anything happening on the floor or with patients. – less
Enviromental Services (Current Employee), Lowell, MA – August 4, 2013
Cons: very poor if any management
LGH offers some good benefits. Lots of good people to work with and a lot of community service. However management in some departments is pathetic and really needs to be revamped. Enjoyed going to work when first started, now the best part of the day is when it is time to leave.
Medical secretary (Current Employee), Lowell, MA – July 12, 2013
Pros: our co. cookouts and employee appreciation days
Cons: very short lunches
Most enjoyable part of my job is the patients I'm very people friendly. Also I work with a fun hard working staff, my manager is very nice. Typical day at work would be very very!! Busy The hardest part hmmmm.... None I guess
