Pros: in downtown, so you can park for free when shopping, attending the downtown market, etc.
Cons: benefits, poor management, slum lord owns one of the buildings.
This company's tone at the top makes it a very difficult place to work. The compensation is good, but the benefits are horrible. They have a high deductible plan, and unless you have an extreme illness, you will never reach the deductible. The good thing is, because of this, the company gives employees money into an HSA savings account. The culture/values are horrible. Each department acts like they are their own company, and nobody talks to each other. Trying to get anything accomplished is close to impossible. Complaints have been made to the CEO/President about this, and he does nothing. Job Security is non-existent, they have fired people without notice that have been with the company over 10 years, and then forclosed on their house when they couldn't make the loan payments. Some departments will advance you, but others there is no room for advacement, even though they will tell you during the interview process there is. Work/Life Balance is good, you work "banker's hours", although some departments may work longer when the job needs to get done. Most departments let you take time off as needed. The Management in this company is the worst I have ever experienced. As mentioned above, the tone at the top trickles down and makes it really hard to work for this company. Departments don't talk to each other, and everyone does whatever they want regardless of the risk to the bank. In addition, the HR Director plays favorites. If you are on her good side, she will let you do pretty much whatever you want. But if she doesn't like you, she will tell you the company doesn't allow – more... certain things, even though others are doing that same thing. Not within a category above, one of the buildings is ran by a slum lord. The toilets are frequently broken, and the A/C is always breaking. The plumber has stated the toilets need to be replaced, and the building manager refuses to replace them. The A/C will work for a day, and then stop working when it is the hottest part of the week. It then takes the building manager a few days to call the repair company. Thank goodness I finally got another job and left this company! – less
