Good atmosphere and exceptional care
Social Worker (Former Employee), Webster Groves, MOMarch 5, 2014
Pros: visually appealing inside and out, multiple area-wide campuses.
Cons: little room for advancement, salary
Lutheran Senior Services offers quality care in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The Laclede Groves campus has a beautiful chapel, nice grounds for taking a walk during lunch, and convenient parking. The staff are friendly and value their jobs, while the residents appear very happy as they transition among levels of care.

Worst place I have ever worked
nurse (Former Employee), St. Charles MOMarch 1, 2014
Pros: ample equipment
Cons: every thing else!
Management is outright abusive If they need you to work nights tonight you will do it or be fired, 3 admits and you need help..don't say a word or you'll be fired or harassed enough to quit These practices shouldn't be legal here in America let alone from a Christian faith based company!

horrible management. Do not value employees
maintenance, former (Former Employee), meridian village, glen carbon ilOctober 26, 2013
Pros: friendly coworkers, good hours
Cons: management, low pay, to much to list
Started off as i thought a great place to work but their values on employees is a joke. They only want people who are friends or kiss up to management. They promote based on who you know. Pay was horrible especially with holding certificates and a degree. Benefits did used to be good but all that changed. HR likes to make up and falsify documents to – more... push for who they really want. The residents are great and made great friends with coworkers bit management doesnt like that you are friends outside of work and consider anything you say to be gossip and isnt allowed. Multiple lawsuits against the xompanu from former employees and residents right now over shady management. Stay away much better companies who value your service and reward you for hard work. Go to anuy other senior service facility and you will hear the same from the workers who know or worked for lss. Nothing good for being a christian company they need to work on their morales and core values. – less

Great mission, low on pay.
Human Resources Clerk - Temporary (Former Employee), St. Louis, MOOctober 1, 2013
Pros: good benefits
Cons: top level mis-trust
The company has a great mission for its residents, to live life to the fullest. Management gets worked to the bone and most are paid at a non-profit level wage while others get paid great salaries. Executive leadership does not always practice what it preaches and can be misleading to its residents and employees.

Good Company. I will like to work there again.
Caregiver (Former Employee), Payson, AZJanuary 15, 2013
Pros: flexibility with schedule, good manager, great co-workers.
Cons: i don't remember one.
One you know your client and what your client wants from you is like to work at home. Depends on your attitud.

June 21, 2013

This used to be a great place to work, but they have gone from a close knit family atmosphere to a faux corporate overbearing insensitive dungeon of a place to spend a work day. They have lost more than two dozen, quality, experienced nurses in a very short period of time. They fire, good people for petty reasons and allow flagrant violators to have careers. Don't believe anything in their employee handbook, because they make up the rules to serve their best interests, whether it be to eliminate your position or to justify a supervisor hiring her best friend. There are better jobs in this industry around St. Louis than this company. Go to any of their competitors and you will find former employees of LSS, who will back up this claim.
