Energetic and enthusiastic company. I love the fast paced environment of the store locations.
Store Manager (Former Employee), Roseville, CA –
Pros: customer relations
Cons: downsize according to salary
Typical work day was building rapport and maintaining customer satisfaction, monitoring employees and maintaining store moral. I enjoyed the fast paced environment and the ability to complete sales tasks, management tasks as well as administrative responsibilities. I enjoy multitasking and wearing several hats.

Not a healthy or sanitary place to work.
Eye Care Advisor (Former Employee), Aurora, IL –
Constantly breathing harmful fumes from the lab,
never got the fifteen minute breaks we were entitled too. Sometimes had to work six or seven
hours before we got our lunch break. Never recognized for a job well done, constantly harrassed and intimidated.

Fun and energetic work environment, a very social setting.
Retail Sales Associate (Current Employee), Sherman, TX –
Pros: customers, co-workers, and social interaction.
Cons: compensation.
I typically start the day with a goal of achieving a daily sales goal set by the company and then going beyond.
I've learned how to interact with people beyond just the sell.
Management and co-workers are typically very encouraging and supportive.
The most difficult portion of my day is when the mall is completely empty of people.
The most enjoyable – more...  part of this position is getting know the customers and what brings them to Sunglass Hut. – less

Good Culture and Work Life Balance
Analyst - inventory planning (Former Employee), Cincinnati, OH –
Pros: great building (has a cheap gym for employees), good work/life balance, good benefits
Cons: low pay, bad career development
Culture is easy going and there is always "tomorrow" to get stuff done. Work/life balance is great. A lot of people work their 40 and leave; if you work 45-50 hours a week you stand out as a high performer. Pay is not very good. But, they have good benefits. They have 401k match (which they don't always do) and a solid pension plan.

Turned me off from large companies
chicago, Illinois (Former Employee), optical manager –
Pros: flexible hours, good benefits
Cons: managers out of touch with reality
Luxottica management and corporate structure is completely out of touch with what is actually happening in their stores. They have turned me off completely with their sales models in the optical industry. I do not like the idea of a retail medical office- it doesn't feel ethically correct.

General Manager (Former Employee) –
Dis-spite strong talk as an open culture they were anything but open. It was all talk that was never embraced by the senior corporate hierarchy.

AFTER 16YEARS OF LOYAL DEDICATION I WAS TERMED BY REGIONAL WHO WAS MY REGIONAL FOR ONLY 7MONTHS , THE REGIONALS DO WHAT EVER THEY WANT/ YOU CAN'T COMPLAIN BECAUSE HR POSITION IS TO STAND BEHIND REGIONAL MANAGER NO MATTER WHAT. NO ONE TAKES A LOOK TO SEE IF IN FACT THEY ARE LIVING UP TO THEIR
