No signs or talks of growth with the company for employees. Good to gain some experience in packaging.

Most days are full of laughter and challenge. The majority of the associates that work here are challenged to continually look for ways to improve upon the current processes. The company also goes out of the way to ensure people feel appreciated and finds fun ways to show it.
The hardest part of the job is waiting for a decision from Management on simple – more... as well as complex items. It's also difficult for many associates to find the right fit for advancement opportunities.
I made many life long relationships within the organization basically by being myself and always completing the tasks given to me and showing that follow through and a friendly attitude are the best ways to build a great reputation. – less

Each day brought about different scenarios. I would place purchase orders for vendors, do follow ups, as well as, work on inventory spreadsheets. The company has excellent benefits and perks such as, free concerts in the cafeteria during lunch and cookouts. I enjoyed learning about optical lenses, the benefits and free parking.

Its an ok place to work if your trying to start from the bottom.

Great place to work,well organized.People friendly,the workeres pulled together as a team. 12 hour shifts was very challenging for me.

The start of the shift began with a staff meeting daily. After the staff meeting I would go to my work area and set up trays of optical lens turn on the polishing machine and stand on my feet for 10 plus hours a night excluding a 30 min. lunch break and two 15 min breaks.

Loved working for this company. If you have the drive and desire to further your career, this is very much an employee focused company. I had years of wonderful experiences with them and would recommend them to anyone.

Luxottica has a work schedule that you would enjoy. With the hours they give you on the weekend you can surely expect to be off duriung the weekdays. I really enjoyed my co workers they were friendly and nice, we worked together as a team not as individuals.

- Elicit requirements to optimize business needs.
- Query DW, data mine to develop and uncover trends.
- Utilize and document ETL tools and procedures to implement new tables into DB in accordance with existing schema.
- Maintain and update metadata and indexes.
- On occasion run ad hoc queries to support different initiatives throughout the company.

While I learned alot through this company, what I mostly learned was the direction of the company was not in the best interest for a stable continued growing career for most individuals looking to advance within the company.

they pay pretty good, but management is terrible. You also have no job security.

Co-workers and manangement were nice to work with. Absolutely loved the job however my only issue was that I was through a temporary service.

I started with another company who was bought by Luxottica. I loved the first company. It felt like home. I enjoyed my job and I worked hard for them. They rewarded you. When new company took over; it was like night and day. New employees are on a much lower pay scale and bonuses are to laugh at. Wonderful company that gives back to it's employees and communities with its charity.

A typical day at Lux was to process all lens prescriptions by deadline date. The processes and procedures are jobs that had to maintained and followed. All specs were to be used and all lens had different prescriptions. The processes were in place to assure that customers eyewear was received and that the customers were satified. A typical day at this job for me was ok but could have been so much better then it was. Me and other employees do all we can to pack up all products an clean the work area. But the managers words are if your not moving like a machine then either you need to or your fired. Everyday you were threatened about your job, being told your not working or not – more... working hard enough.
Everyday employees got in trouble for talking, and a lot of the conversations were asking work related questions and still got in trouble. Some managers will talk down to you and say your not doing anything right, plus will talk bad about you an try to get you fired. My co-workers were awesome to be around, there were never any problem with them. The hardest part of this job was staying in one position for hours at a time but i did enjoy my co-workers, we worked as a team and got alot accomplished. – less
