It's a good job for starting out
CSR (Current Employee) –  Paducah, KYNovember 22, 2017
LYNX is a good job for starting out. It isn't necessarily a job if you want to advance unless you want to be a supervisor. Even then a supervisor is a very stressful role at LYNX. Personally I never wanted that position. The co-workers are generally very nice and the customers are nice. Now and again you do get a rude customer but that just goes with working with the public.

It's ok to work there. It's long hours and not very good wages. Management is pretty good but you never get your breaks only a lunch. Patients are ok too.

Great place to work if they keep their employees
Bus Driver (Current Employee) –  Orlando, FLJune 6, 2017
They are interested in hiring people , but not interested in keeping people. They do not train people very well and their politics are very cut throat. The slightest things will get you terminated.

Many people get hired there and then get fired after a short period of time for very petty things.

Their bidding schedules are very crazy.
Pros
Benefits are halfway decent
Cons
Not a great place to work.

Good place to work. Good pay.
Transit Operator (Former Employee) –  Orlando, FLJune 4, 2017
Whether you are a single parent or with someone and have a family, it is hard. Early morning hours to late evening hours. Supervisors are good. The best thing you could do for yourself is stay away from the drama and elementary school foolishness. This has nothing to do with the company. The company is great. Just stay away from co-worker drama. Hardest part are the hours spent away from home, family. Enjoyable part are some of the regular customers, and the routes away from downtown. No problems from management.
Pros
Good pay
Cons
split shifts

Bus Operator (Current Employee) –  Orlando, FLMay 16, 2017
The job itself is easy; however, most people find that the general population combined with the lack of management and coupled with the atmosphere of nobody cares makes it difficult. That said it is a good job just not the job that it use to be it no longer means something to work for them because somewhere down the line lynx lost it's heart and soul. If you can follow orders without question, can deal with the public without losing your cool and can live in an atmosphere that feels like you're on one life to live then I say go for it. Some pointers if you will... read and understand your contract with lynx and the union. Survive long enough to make it to your first bid which is when you can try to choose a schedule and then coast. Good luck everyone, and good bless.

Cons: have to put some cons here because I couldn't fit them all in coloum under Neath. No lunch breaks, first six months schedule fluctuates with only an 8 hour window on paper, long probationary period 120 days after you pass training of 4 weeks and then 3-7 days with line instructor, abundant on policies and procedures, no pension only 401a, no raises in wages in the past few years 5 or more, atmosphere is divided and cut throat.
Pros
Local union, work is local, semi government job, lots of overtime, free benefits for driver with ability to include more or others at a very high price.
Cons
No lunch breaks, first six months schedule fluctuates with only an 8 hour window on paper, long probationary period 120 days

Technician (Current Employee) –  Orlando, FLMay 2, 2017
Worst time to join this company. We are currently in a contract dispute; so don't expect a raise any time in the next 2 years +. We have been working without a raise for the last 2 years already.
Pros
A place to work
Cons
Company will be reducing benefits and there has been a freeze on raises for the last 2 years

Complete scam!
Account Manager (Current Employee) –  Indianapolis, INJanuary 11, 2017
The company sells you a dream by telling you that approaching 150 people a day at a Wal-Mart, harassing the customers by begging them to sign up for DirectV. They tell you that you can move up in the company within certain time frames, but everybody has the same position, even the "management" teams. One position, which is approaching and harassing customers for sales hoping that out of the 150 people, 2 will say yes and you will average $250/day in commission. In reality, people rarely say yes and you average about 3-4 sales per week if your lucky. Then they take your $300 base pay and subtract your commission from that and you bring home less than $150/BI-WEEKLY! In addition to that, you work about 11-12 hours per day, no overtime pay, which is a total waste of time. The team is amazing and has extremely high energy and positivity during the morning meetings, but once you hit the "field" aka Wal-mart, the job is horrible. Do not fall for this scam, you'll end up wasting time and money and gas. They send you to extremely far stores like Anderson, Noblesville, Crawfordsville, Lafayette, Greenwood, etc and do not pay you mileage. Waste of time!
Pros
Morning meetinga
Cons
Long hours, false promises, Low pay, begging customers for DirectV sales, and they don't pay you the base pay you're promised.

Good long term opportunity
Account Manager (Current Employee) –  Indianapolis, INOctober 19, 2016
This is a great place for someone looking for a place to "plant roots" and looking for opportunity. The opportunity for advancement is great, the team is great, its one of the best environments I have been in. That being said, if you have a hectic schedule, this is probably not the job for you. The hours are very demanding, and this is a very mentally taxing job, as they prepare you for management from day one. This is a great way to get ahead and beat the typical corporate pyramid scheme for those who are looking. You do start off selling product in a retail store, but it can be fun, and is not as bad at it first seems, the pay structure is decent. Beware they do operate on a draw (loan) system for their "base pay" so be prepared to have to go the extra mile to stay profitable weekly. The hardest part of the job is the mental taxation it takes, they do prepare you to be a manager from day one, so they expect a lot. The best part of the job is definitely the team environment, it is one of the most positive and uplifting work places one could hope for.
Pros
Great management, awesome work environment, lots of opportunity for advancement
Cons
short breaks expected, production demanded, mentally taxing, long hours

Not a bad place to work, raises are very rare. Shift bids every now and then to give everyone a chance to possible get a better schedule. As long as you show that you are willing to work and provide a positive attitude development leaders will try there best to work with you. The company was bought out last year so they have improved in a lot of ways. Nothing bad to say about this place, i was just ready for something new.
Pros
GREAT atmosphere
Cons
open 24 hrs even in bad weather ice storms etc

Lynx is a nice place to work for if you dont mind a very basic job that does not have much of any job advancement. Management wasn't really of much assistance. The hardest part of the job was not having a variety of tasks to keep you busy.

Lynx has a lot to offer, it's defiantly welcoming. They offer paid training, it allows you to get certified in computer and insurance skills. Any questions you may have there is always someone available to help. Constant schedules was a giant plus!
