It was a very good experience. But no chances for long employment. I was giving the chance to start an Arabic program starting with one section and within 3 years it became a full program with a study abroad supplement.

The summer was the best time to be around. The weather was warm, the facilities people are all very friendly and really enjoy having the college kids help them out. They taught me very practical skills I could use in maintaining a house and they would often help me fix problems I had with my rental house as long as I could bring it in.

Being able to pass my experience in Water Polo to college girls who are starting in this sport, was an amazing experience where I surprisingly learn more than I taught. Bringing in my memories a lot of good Water Polo lesson and life lesson. The fact that me and the team were very close in age made it really challenging to earn the respect of the team as a coach. But the Incredible team I worked with and the very understanding boss I had, made the season pass so quick that did not even feel like work.

Macalester College is a healthy welcoming environment. My hours were flexible and the management allowed me the flexibility to perform my job without micro-managing. My co-workers were all friendly and mature. A typical day was to go in to the office and work on the project I was hired to do. I learned new software with ease and there wasn't anything difficult. The hardest part of the job was knowing it was a temporary assignment and that I'd have to leave when my project was completed.

My primary objective was to create a help desk for faculty, staff and students that did not exist before I was hired…slowly but surely over time, because funding was necessary.
I made a proposal outlining the cost of a server and help desk specific software, employee costs and requirements. Employees and I logged problems and solutions creating a very useful database.
I also created a budget to add two student labs and upgrade three existing labs. I selected the systems; created the system images for both PC-compatible and Macintosh systems; installed the switch; ran the Cat. cables; ensured adequate power, even selected the furniture. Everything was up and running in nine months.
