Job Description
Requirements: A high school diploma or GED is required. Graduation from a Medical Assisting training program is preferred. One (1) year of Medical Assisting experience in a physician practice or clinic setting is preferred. Familiar with computers and experience with an EMR system is desired. Certified Medical Assistant is preferred. CPR certification preferred. Must use interpersonal communication techniques.Microsoft Windows, Open Office. This MA position will require the applicant to travel between our locations in Leesburg and Mt. Dora.The Employer does drug screening, background and reference checks.

Job Responsibilities: Provide overall support for Physicians and office operations. Access an EMR system to document patient medical history and current assessment. Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Takes patient vital signs. Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments. Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization. Assists physicians in preparing for MOHS/excision surgeries. Assists with scheduling of tests and treatments. Screens telephone calls for referral to physician. Ensure correct grammar, punctuation, or spelling. Obtain information from clients, customers, or patients; provide customer service, retrieve files or charts. Prepare patients for tests, therapy, or treatments. Use sanitation practices in health care settings. Administer injections, collect clinical data, follow dental or medical office procedures, maintain dental or medical records, observe patient condition. Record medical history or data, set up patient care equipment, take vital signs, use clinical sterilizing technique; use knowledge of medical terminology, medical diagnostic equipment and medical lab techniques. Weigh patients, collect specimens from patients; inventory medical supplies or instruments. Prepare medical treatment room, process medical records, follow patient care procedures, route multi-line telephone calls, set up or calibrate laboratory equipment, sterilize or disinfect instruments; order or purchase supplies, materials, or equipment.

The applicant will be required to travel to our second office in Mt Dora, Fl 2 to 3 times per week. Depending upon the applicants proximity to either office number of days and/or the need for travel may be reduced to allow the applicant to remain at one office.

Work Schedule: Day shift and hours vary.
