Challenging to get a full time position and when they are available it is only temporary and then back to part time. Most of the executive team is leaving after 10+ years of service and being replaced with people lacking those qualifications. The work environment has one person servicing the customer, cleaning the floor, checking fitting room and doing fulfillment while watching multiple zones.

Awful. Macy's let go of long-tenured, hard-working employees. Then several weeks later, hired new people from outside the company. If you have a reduction in force why are you now hiring new people? How about finding new positions for the laid-off employees? This action just shows what Macy's is all about.

The stores deserve to close, Macy's isn't doing well and workers see it first hand. The only thing you have to worry about. if you're not from Marshall Fields, is finding a job, because Marshall Fields employess are paid when the store closes. The pace is slow and the management works that much slower.

I have worked for Macy's for 10 years
But was let go for false made up reasons. Macy's wants you to be faithful to them but they are not faithful to their employees also they want you to be honest and have integrity but how much honesty do they have selling used furniture as new for many many years ,some that are really nasty with pet hair and DNA stains. So BEWARE if you plan on buying furniture at Macy's.

I came out of one of the closing stores. Macys did a great job retaining me and moving me to another store. They handled the closing stores very professionally.

Existing staff maybe apprehensive about store closings or layoffs but within themselves they know it could happen anything depending on the bottom line and other economic factors which may be hard to swallow.

The amount that majority employees are paid are a bit low. Super fun to work there. They mainly care for their customers and Macy's card. Employees didn't seem too happy working there. My experience was a good one. Yet I feel lack of training on the managers part.

I am not aware of any layoffs. Work environment is always busy. If there is any layoffs, it would be sad but it is part of the business. I know lot of people that enjoy shopping at Macy's.

Not many reasons to stay with this company. Very recently many people who have worked within Macy's for 12 to 30 years are leaving. They are being replaced by associates who don't exhibit the same qualifications. Macy's is doing nothing to try to keep these great employees. The assigned HR representatives are more concerned with getting the resignation instead of finding out why they are leaving (in mass quantities).
