About Madison Area Technical College

With campuses in Madison, Fort Atkinson, Portage, Reedsburg and Watertown, Madison College serves more than 40,000 students throughout a 12-county district in southcentral Wisconsin. The second-largest institution in the Wisconsin Technical College System, Madison College has earned national distinction for providing “Real-world Smart” education through a comprehensive curriculum that includes technical and liberal arts education, adult basic education, continuing education and customized training for employers.

Madison College offers 144 diverse career programs and certificates in cutting-edge areas such as biotechnology, event marketing, digital forensics, sustainability and mobile application development. The college has 134 program-to-program, flexible credit agreements with 30 four-year universities that grant students full credit toward a bachelor’s degree. More students transfer from Madison College to the University of Wisconsin-Madison than from any other institution in the state.

Thanks to public support for a $133.7 million building referendum, a new Health Education Center, Protective Services Education Center, Innovation Center and Campus Gateway will open in 2013. Students who attend the college’s regional campuses will also benefit from extensive facilities and technology upgrades that are conducive to inquiry and discovery. I didn't really have a typical day. Everyday there was something new to learn. As I did several jobs at once. One day I would be a cashier, the next I'd work in the kitchen. It was pretty fun.
