Make It Right is seeking an experienced social media strategist and communications associate to maintain and grow Make It Right’s presence across multiple social media platforms, support content development on Make It Right’s website and provide general support to organizational communications.


  • Strong knowledge of what makes good social media content and what will be of interest to followers and donors
  • Manage presence in social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, and other similar community sites, posting on relevant blogs, and seeding content into social applications as needed, combining creativity and appropriate messaging
  • Manage social media campaigns and day-to-day activities. Duties include online advocacy, writing editorial, community-outreach efforts, promotions and response to social media followers in a professional manner.
  • Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs, and analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results
  • Identify emerging trends in social media tools and applications
  • Are detail-oriented, including perfect grammar and spelling
  • Write excellent content for social media platforms and blog posts
  • Produce captivating photos and video clips for social media/website content
  • Promote corporate partners
  • Work with Make It Right’s development team to develop online fundraising strategies
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including print design work, communications functions and event support


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
  • Knowledge of graphic design for both print and web projects, particularly Adobe Design Suite CS5
  • Experience with WordPress, Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, YouTube Insights, HootSuite and other tools
  • Strong understanding of HTML and CSS
  • Knowledge of web usability best practices, website navigation design and flow, content classification, and content management methods and systems
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and juggle several assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to behave with a good sense of decorum and appropriateness; acting as a Make It Right ambassador both online and offline is absolutely required
