Marketing Team Member (Former Employee) –  Brooklyn, NYApril 21, 2017
Great people. Unfortunately, they all get laid off in droves every year or so. Sales are terrible and the product barely works. Zero job security here. Upper management barely has a clue what it's doing. I worked there for over a year, and mostly all of my team members either left (because the pay sucks or the atmosphere became ridiculously stressful) or they got laid off. If you're considering working here, you've been warned.
Pros
The people and culture are amazing
Cons
Zero job security. Low pay. Stressful/uncertain atmosphere.

Productive work environment but depressing atmosphere
Material Handler (Former Employee) –  Brooklyn, NYAugust 26, 2016
typical day at work: come into work, get told what to do, bring parts back and forth ti the line, make sure we order whatever parts to the production floor from warehouse, and hope nothing is missing/not in the factory/warehouse or else the lines would stop/put to a halt (this happened frequently).

What I learned: How to build a Replicator 2/2x, Inventory management, how a production line works.

Management: would practically stare you down or question you for every little thing, will or say one thing but do/mean another.

Co-workers were phenomenal! They got the jobs done (even in weeks of overtime-typically a month or two). Everyone was down to Earth or able to connect with each other in some way, shape or form!

Hardest part of the job: Trying to get through the weeks of overtime, I love me some overtime..but when they last for a month or two it feels very excessive and everyone gets worn out very quickly with all of the lifting of machinery and heavy parts!

Most enjoyable part: I got to and and work with 3d printers. As a prop builder/cosplayer, this was such an amazing thing to learn how to work with as I use it now. Also, again...my coworkers helped make the job enjoyable with after work meet-ups and just hanging out.
Pros
ability to listen to personal music/use phones(briefly), free coffee, 50 cent vending machines, drinks for $1, other workers were excellent and got the jobs done under pressure.
Cons
Management, excessive overtime, misrepresentation of key information, short lunches

The culture and people are great. All employees are Energetic, Innovative, Creative and Collaborative. Which makes this an exciting place work.

-Flexible work life balance (9-6), but are understanding of personal or life problems.

- Ping Pong / Pool table
- unlimited 3d printer access (most employees have their own on desk)

- Room for growth (Internal transfers and promotions)
- Great views
Cons
Pay is average market rate.

Quality Engineer (Current Employee) –  Brooklyn, NYJuly 11, 2016
I learned a lot about manufacturing and starting up many initiatives in manufacturing quality. Co-workers were very young and intelligent. Management wasn't always prepared to deal with changing personnel and revamped company direction.
Pros
Young professionals
Cons
Constantly changing company direction/leadership

Exciting job but also very frustrating
N/A (Current Employee) –  Brooklyn, NYMarch 30, 2016
Going through some serious growing pains as the transition from start-up to public company continues. New leadership is trying their best but very difficult decisions still need to be made. There is an intense amount of work to be done and not enough resources to be successful. On the positive side, there is room to grow and move up within the organization, generally the employees are passionate and great to work with. The product itself is exciting but challenging. The office environment is good but the work-life balance is a problem.

Shipping Cell Leader (Former Employee) –  Brooklyn, NYMarch 30, 2016
My typical work day would consist of supervising the shipping department, insuring all shipments are processed in a efficient manner. Making many movements within the inventory management system, sometimes physically. Assisting the Shipping Manager with whatever tasks needed to be completed. attending meetings on a weekly basis to touch base with management. The most enjoyable part of my job was the hectic work. My job was a very busy job and my day would literally fly by.
Pros
Great benefits
Cons
Only a 45 minute lunch break.

Test Engineering Technician (Former Employee) –  Brooklyn, NYJuly 18, 2015
The R&D department is useless, they only come in a few hours a week and push all their projects onto the quality team. You'll be hard pressed to find anyone in the company who claims to work hard, the company motto is "they don't pay me enough to do my job." I can't really argue with that, so just hope you get a job with R&D where you aren't asked to do any work, if you are applying for a different department, just don't.
Pros
No one will get on your case for not working hard
Cons
Everything.

Building 3D printers was very fun
Production Worker (Former Employee) –  39 th Street Brooklyn SunsetJuly 13, 2015
Working at Makerbot was very fun but whenever there was an issue Makerbot employers doesn't know how to handle certain situations. Employer and Employees weren't professional. I've learn to try to work hard and manage whatever tasks was thrown at me. Co-workers were very disrespectful. The hardest part was to ignore distractions from fellow co-workers. The most enjoyable part of the job was assembling these 3D printers and observe on the way it works.

Inventory Auditor Specialist (Current Employee) –  Brooklyn,NYMay 14, 2015
A terrible place to work no one stays there for long. Everyone that is inexperienced is pretty much management and those that know what they are doing never make it to a managers position. They pay peanuts even if you have a college degree and look at you funny when you ask for a raise. Certain departments think that they are better than the other real cutthroat type of mentality etc,,,
Pros
nothing
Cons
everything

Warehouse Associate/Forklift Operator (Current Employee) –  Brooklyn, NYJanuary 22, 2015
This company have poor management and h r. There is no real opportunity to move up. They do not talk about raises or give them. Benefits not the best but they offer them. Everything is done through email. Policies only exist when something happens. All of management are in their 20's and miserable. They fire you easily so you have to be extra cautious.
Pros
.25 vending machines, free fruits and all the coffee, cocoa and tea you can drink
Cons
No real raises in pay, young management, awful h r, no opportunity to move up, will not work with your schedule
