Test Engineering Technician (Former Employee) – Brooklyn, NY – July 18, 2015
The R&D department is useless, they only come in a few hours a week and push all their projects onto the quality team. You'll be hard pressed to find anyone in the company who claims to work hard, the company motto is "they don't pay me enough to do my job." I can't really argue with that, so just hope you get a job with R&D where you aren't asked to do any work, if you are applying for a different department, just don't.
Production Worker (Former Employee) – 39 th Street Brooklyn Sunset – July 13, 2015
Working at Makerbot was very fun but whenever there was an issue Makerbot employers doesn't know how to handle certain situations. Employer and Employees weren't professional. I've learn to try to work hard and manage whatever tasks was thrown at me. Co-workers were very disrespectful. The hardest part was to ignore distractions from fellow co-workers. The most enjoyable part of the job was assembling these 3D printers and observe on the way it works.
Senior Product Designer (Former Employee) – Brooklyn, NY – June 4, 2015
- Extensive 3D modeling - Always balancing multiple projects - Tight deadlines - Worked occasional weekends - Rarely collaborated with other depts. It was actually discouraged, which I found to be detrimental.
Access to 3D printers, exciting industry, working with smart people
A terrible place to work no one stays there for long. Everyone that is inexperienced is pretty much management and those that know what they are doing never make it to a managers position. They pay peanuts even if you have a college degree and look at you funny when you ask for a raise. Certain departments think that they are better than the other real cutthroat type of mentality etc,,,
This is a temporary job for people looking to advance.
Warehouse Associate/Forklift Operator (Current Employee) – Brooklyn, NY – January 22, 2015
This company have poor management and h r. There is no real opportunity to move up. They do not talk about raises or give them. Benefits not the best but they offer them. Everything is done through email. Policies only exist when something happens. All of management are in their 20's and miserable. They fire you easily so you have to be extra cautious.
.25 vending machines, free fruits and all the coffee, cocoa and tea you can drink
no real raises in pay, young management, awful h r, no opportunity to move up, will not work with your schedule
A company barely off the ground when I worked here
Operations Manager (Former Employee) – Brooklyn, NY – January 13, 2015
I can't give a proper review as it was a brand new company when I worked there. A lot of details still needed to be worked out and the employees syffered because of it. They did give free lunch every Friday though.
