Level 2 Support Technician, Information Technology (IT)

Job Description & Responsibilities:
This person will serve as a company representative to provide ground-up IT consulting, service, and systems integration. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to assisting current and new clients with systems evaluations, in-depth consultations, and providing network and security recommendations and implementations. This person may also provide basic day-to-day support services including but not limited to installation and troubleshooting of hardware and software, resolution of end-user IT-related issues, and routine maintenance of PCs, servers, and other network equipment. This person will work under direct supervision of Level 3 technical staff and Management.

Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum of 2-year degree in a technical discipline
- Minimum 2 years experience delivering IT consulting services in complex, diverse environments
- At least one industry certification, including Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA
- High level knowledge of Microsoft desktop and server software (including Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Server 2000, Server 2003, Server 2008, Server 2012)
- Thorough understanding of TCP/IP and LAN/WAN networking
- Experience installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting network devices (including routers, switches, firewalls, etc.)
- Experience with creating, maintaining, and securing VPN communication
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as function independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks
- The ability to relay technical information to both technical and non-technical individuals
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- A willingness and the enthusiasm to take initiative on jobs and follow up with clients, including documenting all tasks

Candidate will spend considerable time at client sites and interacting closely with customers and vendors. Applicant must have a professional demeanor and appearance, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced IT consulting environment.

Standard work hours are Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, but may vary to accommodate client needs. Personal, reliable vehicle is required for occasional travel to customer sites, usually within a three hour radius of Athens, Georgia. Position will be salaried with option for group benefits.
