Front desk was a good job. There was not really an opportunity for advancement. It was a good place to work though. A nice office setting.
A typical work day was spent checking in patients in the morning, making sure their charts and visit records made the necessary rounds from the front desk, to exam rooms, into the hands of treating clinical professionals, and back to the front desk. Upon patients' checkouts, we were to process their referrals, collect payment and copayments if necessary, and then enter their prescription information. We also scheduled appointments and made necessary follow-up calls, for patient reminders and regarding referrals, etc.

No career advancement, no benefits.
