Heavy work load, lots of overtime, antiquated systems, no one held accountable. Constant process changes. Management doesn't listen to employee concerns.

In my 15 years tenure with Mapfre I enjoyed learning in every stage of my career. The hardest part of my job was dealing with aggressive competitors, whose strategies demanded the best of my sales and interpersonal skills in order to keep a steady growth. The most enjoyable part of the job was traveling, and the hand shake after closing a deal.

Great company to work for, with daily challenges affecting work timeliness and results

MAPFRE USA is a great company to work for. The daily challenges of the job is dealing with the daily issues with the computer system. The claims systems is not user friendly as it is based on the same claims system used in the headquarters in Spain. Entries of claims information requires too many steps and information that are not relevant to the resolution of the claims.

A lot of opportunities as the company continues to grow.
Cons
The claims department has not reached a consistent claims process system.

Easy to get stuck

This is not a bad company to work for however it is very easy to get stuck in a position with no room for growth. The managers have been there for a very long time and are very stuck in their ways. The opinions of the employees are not important to the managers or company.

MAPFRE is a constantly changing environment. The company is trying to make a mark in the U.S. market. I work with great people that support one another. Management take a step back and let the employees perform their job functions. The hardest part of the job is the constant changes with the various systems we use on an everyday basis.

- MAPFRE USA is working branching out to other states such as Florida, Rhode Island, California, Arizona.
