Special Education Teacher, Vernon, CT - July 17, 2014
I held the position of a second and third grade math and reading intervention teacher. I apply customized approaches to meet each student’s learning styles through their individualized educational plans. I work mindfully with the general education teachers to ensure my students’ needs are being met. I create lesson plans and worksheets to increase student’s ability while focusing on their needs of improvement. I demonstrate strong verbal and written skills, keeping daily log sheets to document every aspect of my students’ learning goals and progress. From the beginning, I would visit my classrooms and pull out certain students for extra help. That was continuous throughout the day. My co-workers were very helpful and communicated with me regularly. The hardest part of my day, was trying to get some of academically low students motivated. The most enjoyable day was watching their faces light up when they understood something that they have been struggling with.
