Great place to work with great people to work with.
Sr. Sales Planning Analyst (Current Employee), Franklin, TN – March 27, 2013
Pros: work-life balance is a huge part of the culture.
Cons: they are always restructuring departments and lay people off often.
Their core values are a part of everyday life in and out of the office. It is a great place to learn and grow as an associate.

Compensation good but very poor with diversity
Infrastructure Lead (Former Employee), New Jersey – March 15, 2013
Pros: compensation for 40 hour week
Cons: diversity very poor
Compensation is good if you don't have to work a 60 hour week - make certain you check on the "real" hours expected to work per week.
Diversity is very poor at this company hence if you are a woman, minority, or older worker expect trouble with advancing your career at this company.
Promotions are very political, rarely Merit based.

Contracted Senior Fixed Asset Accountant
Contracted Senior Fixed Asset Accountant (Current Employee), Hackettstown, NJ – January 14, 2013
Mars Inc. as a whole is a great company to work for. However, I am a contracted employee as I have been contracting for a while. I supervise the Fixed Asset process as it exists today. The reason I am a contractor is because Finance is being centralized to Chicago.

Love my job!
Manager (Current Employee), South Carolina – December 1, 2012
Pros: great atmosphere and good pay
Cons: salary not paid overtime for excessive hours!
Excellent place to work with competitive pay however long hours and managers are on salary so there is no overtime! No work life balance which is a morale killer!

Great place working overnight with a great team
Floor Maitenance (Current Employee), Aberdeen, MD – November 6, 2012
A typical day for me at mars starts out with me gathering all my supplies. Based on the tasks for the night I begin to plan my course of action. I have learned time management and decision making is very important when your working in this environment. Management is very easy to get along with and quickly learned they could trust me to get the job done. – more... Though I an the only Floor maintenance personnel at the store. I do have some coworkers who stock the isles. occasionally I must work around them but this has never been a problem. The hardest part of the job would be working overnight. The thing I like most about Mars is the sense of accomplishment at the end of a shift. – less

Good work place with lots of good hard working people.
Operator (Former Employee), Earth City, MO – August 14, 2012
Pros: great people, work that i liked
Cons: long days, low money
I was the guy that covered for the sick operators so everyday was different for me because I was always doing something different. I leaned the entire warehouse and got very good at working fast in new areas though out the day. Hardest part of the job was never having an easy part of the day becasue I was always put in the areas that were behind to – more... help catch them up but the best part was always being on a different kind of machine everyday. – less

working with some great people
Project Cementing Engineer II (Current Employee), HASSI MASSAOUD – July 11, 2012
Pros: free breakfast, lunch and diner, jam for sport, healthcare
Cons: management
* I enjoy coming to work with people that I get around, I have a good time with. I have to prepare proposals using BJ cement engineer softwares with estimate cost for assigned customer, attend daily meeting with customer, participate and discuss the cement job, maintain close liaison with field service and lab personal.
* I was able to really develop – more... my leadership skills.
*I held all responsibility for getting this job completed on time, I did this in most cases by appealing to my team mates.
* on several occasions I have had to deal with some irate customer, I do my best to be professional and not get my emotion involved.
* having an weekly meeting where we can talk about any pressing tasks or duties that the team should focus on, it's just nice to have a forum where every one can talk about their status on their role and if they need help, can ask for it from others who might have some extra time. – less
