Front End Coordinator/ Backroom Coordinator (Former Employee), Manassas, VAJuly 8, 2014
Pros: bigger company, better benefits, very busy store
Cons: poor management
At marshalls i was promoted from FEC front end coordinator to BRC Back room coordinator. My jobs responsibilities were to supervise the unloading of the merchandise trucks every monday-friday starting at 6 a.m. Our task at hand was to unload as fast as we can and to process as fast and efficient as possible. I was also responsible for the efficiency – more... chart for the truck and for my processing team. – less

There is no describing the environment, the people, and what I had learned from my experience at marshalls.
There were no hard parts about my job, but every part and moment was always enjoyable.

Retail at its Best
Sales Associate (Former Employee), Brandywine, MDJuly 1, 2014
Pros: phenomenal benefits
Cons: cleaning up when the day is over.
A typical day at Marshalls will always keep you busy with never ending customers and never ending designer brands. Everyday I went to work I learned a new skill set from being a cash handler, to logistics, to fashion merchandising. The management team could've been a bit more top notch and organized but my co-workers were divine, we were like a big – more... family, I didn't feel any discomfort there ever we were all pretty diverse and welcoming. The hardest part of my job was cleaning up the entire store after the day was over especially at times when we were short staffed. The most enjoyable part about working at Marshalls is of course the styles and trends you get to see everyday and being able to talk with your managers even the GM and feeling really close and personal with them. – less

Merchandise Coordinator (Current Employee), Charlotte, NCJune 27, 2014
Pros: 20% off days, 10% discount
Working here has really help me grow as a person, My work ethic has improved and I have gained many different skills. However, It is not the place for me personally. Depending on the location of the store varied on the type of enjoyable environment you are going to receive. My journey here has been a good one but has slowly become sour. The hardest – more... part of my job is team work. I'm good with team work but not everyone is made for it. Management stress that everyone must work together but does not enforce the issue. This has become a problem because people will take advantage of the help that is given to them. No one is equal here. There are fun days, I love most of my coworkers, and yes I have my favorites. Everyone as a whole are pleasant to work with and we do enjoy each other. The company is a great place to grow if you are trying to move up in the retail chain. This all depends on the location and the management. – less

Marshalls is a big company to work for so on certain days its really busy. Working for Marshalls is not that bad just meet different people everyday with different personalities. The only hard part about the job is dealing with people personalities some people have good days and some don't so with that being said some people bring their problems to – more... you. Working for any retail job you have o focused and remember what you are really there for which is provide great customer service ,making money, and feeling good that you have a job and you did your job to your best abilities. – less
