Driver/Driver Trainer (Current Employee) –  Spring Hill, TNSeptember 13, 2017
I wasn't getting a 2nd load, therefore wasn't making enough money. Drivers are paid by the load, if a driver can earn nough money delivering just one load, it's an awesome place to work.

Not whatbits built up to be
CDL Class A Driver (Current Employee) –  Lansing, MIAugust 2, 2017
You get paid per "turn" not daily... can make anywhere from 60 a day to 300... but the majority make around 170-200 a day usually for a 12-13 hour day. Gm runs four days a week so if you want a fifth day to make the paycheck decent you have to work weekends. Dispatch will run you into the ground and over your time, they don't care.

Equipment is old and questionable.

Truck Driver Class A (Current Employee) –  Lansing, MIJuly 30, 2017
This company would be a good company if they would only put drivers first and not treat them like a piece of meat. Dispatchers are not properly trained and all they are concerned with is getting the load board cleared despite you are running out of hours.
Pros
No bossmover your shoulder
Cons
slip seating, bad equipment and not enough trucks for drivers to start their day

It's a trucking job.
Driver (Current Employee) –  Bean Station, TNJune 16, 2017
I've been with MTS for about a year now. It's not a terrible job, but far from the best. Do not expect a set schedule, the term dedicated is incorrectly used. Like every trucking company, they expect you to drop everything you're doing and come running when they call on your time off. They do not know how to make a schedule, example, I had to explain why I couldn't leave at 4am to detroit, back to the yard and back to detroit by 8pm the following day. Overall, it's not a terrible job, and it pays the bills.
Pros
Home more than most OTR companies.
Cons
Definitely feel like just a warm body in a truck.

Driver Manager/Dispatcher (Current Employee) –  Byron Center, MIMay 25, 2017
Overall this is a decent company to work for. Communication between management and employees needs to be increased. The benefits are relatively good. The employees should receive more PTO and paid sick days when starting out with the company.

Average trucking job.
Driver (Current Employee) –  Toledo, OHApril 25, 2017
Not a bad place to work if you have a spouse that has income. Very low stress and as long as you get to your delivery by the window time, there will be no problems. If you are low on the seniority list, they will ask you to work a couple Saturdays a month, but you are not required to. Slip seating, so you will occasionally get to drive a real "gem" but overall the equipment are in good shape. They only require 6 months semi experience, so if you are just starting out and want to hone your skills, this would be the place to do it.
Pros
TM will work with you to get the run you want
Cons
Flat rate pay

Nothing but fake promises, lies to get you in the door & favoritism
Receptionist (Current Employee) –  Byron Center, MIApril 10, 2017
You actually have to flirt or hang out with management outside of work & kiss butt in order to move up in the company. The favorites get away with being late daily & still getting a full pay check as if they were there on time every day. Management knows this & lets them get away with it. Also gets away with not paying over time but requires employees to be there early but won't pay them for it. The Labor board needs to be called on them again for sure!

Driver (Current Employee) –  Bean Station, TNMarch 9, 2017
There's no communication between management and the drivers. When they say you're dedicated. This means you're dedicated auto parts. You're not dedicated to one lane. Lanes are constantly leaving or changing. Most new runs are multiple stops and take 3 days or longer to complete. Mts does not pay enough in my opinion to cover this amount of time on the road. They now have drive cam, speed gauge" no speeding over 4mph over speed limit or your will be terminated", and now you can only fuel at a pilot that they authorize daily. You have no choice over which one it is. I would not recommend work in here.

Feeling sorry for the trucking industry
Truck Driver (Former Employee) –  Toledo OhioMarch 4, 2017
This company could be great if they fixed a few things. For starters the pay can be decent on some of the loads, they pay flate rate on loads hauled. But sometimes the load doesn't equal the time put in. Secondly, they have little or no concern over important affairs in your life that happen suddenly, time off on days when these things happen are disregarded, for two reasons I can see. One they just don't care. Two, they don't have enough drivers to help out, which I would credit to their high turnover rate. Thirdly, their equipment is horrible for new employees who have been here at least 1 year and under from what I know. You spend a lot of time writing stuff up because they slip seat trucks. Look save yourself the trouble, do not come here.
Pros
Health & Dental. Decent pay on some freight
Cons
Trucks garbage, No consideration for family problems/personal/ hometime

Senior Desktop Support (Former Employee) –  Byron Center, MIFebruary 23, 2017
This job is a non-starter. You will never move up in this company no matter what you do. The "Director" is so impressed with himself and his personal knowledge of everything that you will not stand a chance.

The Salary will be low balled and you will be doing extra work you never anticipated. Take nothing less than 50K a year for this job.
Pros
The owners are great
Cons
The management sucks

CDL Class A Driver (Former Employee) –  Spring Hill, TNFebruary 21, 2017
Started this job with a pay guarantee , first time the GM plant shuts down they cancel the guarantee was promissed $1000/week never seen it . They did do a smart thing with ordering a bunch of glider kits . Unorganized as heck and they have driver mounted cameras , insurance is better than most companies .
Pros
Insurance, equipment
Cons
Management, cameras in the truck, early hours

Little or no room for advancement - no job appraisals - no raises
Operations Associate (Former Employee) –  Byron Center, MIFebruary 17, 2017
Management makes hasty, unwarranted decisions on a whim.
There are no job appraisals so therefore very little chance for a raise or a promotion.
Management is RE-Active instead of PRO-Active
They have an excellent software system that is not utilized properly
It is never how well you do it is how poorly you do
Do not expect to stay long unless you are good with your salary or hourly rate because it just does not change
Pros
Excellent work atmosphere, free coffee
Cons
no room for advancement, ongoing layoffs, constant turnover because there are no appraisals or raises given
