One of the worst high-tech companies
Senior Staff Design Engineer (Current Employee) –  Santa Clara, CAApril 29, 2016
Compensation/benefit is bad, management is terrible, and company is full of incapable engineers that somehow can get promoted because his/her boss gets promoted.

The only decent things are cafetaria and gym.

To fit right people to the right thing. Leverage everyone's skills, and encourage them to learn across.

I learned a lot from various of business groups and peers while working on their projects.

Close door management style
Senior Manager (Current Employee) –  Santa Clara, CAApril 17, 2013
Marvell senior management is controlled behind close door by Execs. Communication within the teams is rare, and a typical boss-employee relationship is norm. Management struggles to hold on to good talent as the salary and bonus are not at-par with Bay area companies.
Pros
good cafetaria, gym, exposure to some cutting edge work
Cons
management style, base salary, yearly bonus

Founders are some of the smartest people you will ever encounter
Senior Marketing Program Manager (Former Employee) –  Sunnyvale, CANovember 20, 2012
Marvell consistently hires very smart and talented staff resulting in a great opportunity to be surrounded by high intelligence. The down side is if you or your job are not viewed as critical then opportunities for your career growth are limited.

The founders are extremely capable engineers who keep the secrets of their technical advancements to themselves because they understand the consequences of today's highly interchangeable employee pool can have on the transfer of such information to competitors.

It is unusual for "nerdy" engineers to effectively maneuver the investor relations gauntlet and political environment that leading a public company requires but these executives have effectively learned the ropes.

The husband and wife leadership team are more than a marriage by chance - he the brilliant electronics engineer and she the daughter of a founder of the largest independent semiconductor manufacturer in the world with substantial financial resources. Their dreams were bound to come true.

Total commitment to the company is demanded and long hours are expected. Failure is not tolerated and weak perfomers are quickly culled. But the reward is a highly dynamic work environment, extraordinary opportunities to learn, and a leadership team that really cares about their employees.
