A company will ample support and it is based on the foundation of God being first in your life.
Independent Beauty Consultant (Current Employee), Buffalo Grove, IL –
Pros: prizes, cars, self esteem
Cons: finding your own clients
I send out profiles to Churches, I send out Facebook messages and offer specials to get new clients. I have learned to be more outgoing and to not let fear hold me back from offering a wonderful service. The hardest part of the job is the fear but the most enjoyable part is when I face that and succeed.

Independent Beauty Consultant (Current Employee), Atlanta, GA –
Pros: 50% commission, bonuses, free prizes for doing your job
Cons: no healthcare benefits
A typical day entails networking with a variety of woman and companies. In this business I have learned that a "no" brings you that much closer to the next "yes". This business has also taught me the skills it takes to relate to all different personality types. I have an amazing support system in Mary Kay and I love the fact that I am not only helping – more...  the economy grow but also helping woman start there own business. – less

At this time in my life, this was a very convenient job for me. as a first year college student, I needed a job with flexible hours. This job is what you make of it. The more you put into your small business, the more you get out of it.

Very Empowering & Motivating
Consultant (Former Employee), San Antonio, TX –
Pros: being your own boss
Cons: making sales
Mary Kay was one of the most empowering jobs that I've ever had because it was when women get together and begin to work as a team to sel products that both men and women use and have grown to love for so many years. I loved when anyone would make a sale and we all cheered for each other and continued to be so supportive and motivational. The hardest – more...  part of this job was getting sales and getting new clientel and expanding your business. But as well as with any other job the more you work at it the better. – less

Pros: u set your own schedule & r your own boss!
Cons: i can't think of any
I have been a Mary Kay Consultant for 5 yrs. This has been one of the most rewarding experiences for me. Not only have i learned about our great products, attend seminars & workshops but have had the opportunityto be around other positvie women. The most enjoyable part of being a MK consultant is helping other women with their skin care products & building – more...  relationships with them. – less

Independent Beauty Consultant (Current Employee), Where ever I'm located –
Pros: being your own boss, setting your own hours, advancing when you want.
My decision to become an Independent Beauty Consutant with Mary Kay, Inc.was two fold. First, because of my desire to be my own boss and to forfil the need to have multiple streams of income and secondly this company was established upon principles that are important to me as a single parent. With a clear career path for advancement already in place – more...  clearly the sky is the limit with this organizaton.Being rewarded for your work and being paid what you're worth are just two reasons of being a part of this amazing organization. – less
