Assistant General Manager, San Diego, CA - April 11, 2015
I typical day would be 10 hours, I benefited most from their preciseness with financial numbers and all controls, I truly learned how to make money and most of all, profit for the ownership! My co-workers were my family, some had been there since opening, most were new hires I brought on, they are all great people and extremely hard workers! The hardest part of any restaurant management job is the same with MJ's, the fact that you will spend a minimum of 50 hours a week there, most of the weeks more than that, it's tough to have a work/life balance with your schedule changing from week to week. I've been doing it for so long it does not affect me anymore and I know how to balance my time and life, but some of the other managers were not ready for this shift in their schedule demands. The most enjoyable part of the job was seeing all the celebrities and VIP's and just telling people you work at the Hard Rock Hotel, it's cool and I had fun while I was there!
