Decent job no room for advancement
Door Buyer/Planner (Former Employee), Charlotte, NC – May 6, 2013
Pros: i was in charge of employee appreciation day
Cons: no room for advacnement
I went to work at 6am and worked until 4pm. I was very busy helping others and doing what I needed to get done every day. I was responsible for creatng and maintaing our Bill of materals so i was always interacting with IT to come up with ways to improve on the process. I interacted with managment and procurement team daily to ensure the materials we – more... needed were avilable. I had to schedule all the production lines and presses. I maintain all our min/max levels. IMy co workers were fun to work with and we all had something to bring to the table that made out jobs easier. My co workers made the job fun and we always helped one another. Since there was a huge lay off in Aprilof 2012 we al had to take on more job duties so we had to rely on one another to keep going and keep out spirits up, – less

very laid back place of work
Pressman press machine operater (Former Employee), Denmark, SC – April 24, 2013
Pros: holidays off and pay, safety lunches, and 2:30 pm off time
Cons: very short breaks, tuff older equipment, some task take long to overcome
As far as an overall view management teams were always great to hear you out there also as supervisors team leads and even the senior worker great team the co workers are great as well mostly everyone knew each other if you didn't it was the matter of time before you did as of this job I learned a lot about the warehouse manufacturing type of work zone – more... before this I attended college so I am glad they gave me the opportunity the hardest part of this job was dealing with the weather and bad equipment an sometimes the pay and of course the shift but overall it was nothing that could break my spirit but the whole atmosphere of Masonite is the most enjoyable time to especially the gifts and dinners – less

Max your comp coming in, because raises are far & few
leader (Former Employee), midwest – September 28, 2012
This company has grown by acquiring a lot of other door companies, but not necessarily digesting them successfully.

Employees seem to pay the lion's share of medical / dental benefits in the U.S., and you can expect limited providers to choose from with very low / limited service levels.

Customer service (Current Employee), Yulee, FL – July 4, 2012
A typical day at work for me is I go to work at six a.m. and get off at five p.m. In that time I check emails, and faxes sent to me from lowes. On those faxes they have customers that are wanting special quotes on doors. I check them to see if we can build that type of door and all of the stuff they might want with it. If we can do it i fax it back – more... to them with the price that it will cost and how long it will take us to build it. I have learned alot with this company. I been with them for nine years now. In those nine years i have learned cnc, air tools, saws, inventory prep, Quality control, and now customer care. The management is fair. They have a open door policys. The co-workers are great to work with. Everybody knows we have to work together and get along because we need to get the job done correct. The hardest part of the job is when we have angry customers call the job and i have to talk with them and smooth everything out. At the end of the day with out them we have no work. So i make sure that there happy before they hang up the phone. The most enjoyable part of the job is turning profits. I love helping others and teaching. – less

Pros: flexible work schedule
Cons: company makes drastic cuts
Great Company to work for. Awesom Benifits. The want to measure up and delight the customer. By cutting leadtimes and cost. They are the leader in doors. And care about their employments. The have been able to survive. The downward siral of the housing market. Masonite gave me great opporitunities. They are downsizing and moving their operations from – more... Enjoy new Challenges and Projects
Stores Manager (Current Employee), Kwa-Zulu Natal Midlands – April 10, 2013
Pros: 100% provident fund paid by the company, companies portion and mine. medical aid, 13th cheque, a bit of flexi hours
Cons: normal 5 day week, 8h00 to 16h30 (1 hr lunch break)
I've always enjoyed working with this company as i've learned and gained a lot of experience whilst in their employed. Being involved in projects and system developments have been challenging, but at the same time enjoyable. working closely with Senior Management is quite an experience here, because it is an ongoing learning process for me. My current – more... position has given me the opportunity to meet new people often and of different nationalities and race groups. – less

Good company to work for - dynamic working environment !
Forestry Accountant (Current Employee), Pietermaritzburg - Kwa Zulu Natal – January 18, 2013
I work with wonderful people. We have a great team spirit at work.
No two days are alike as forestry is a very dynamic and challenging environment.

We are very adept at multitasking , especially since we have reduced staff significantly over the last 10 years.

There are constant deadlines in the admin / accounting environment , and only proper planning – more... and discipline ensures that
deadlines are met timeously and accurately. There are very high standards as management relies on the accuracy of our work in order to make decisions. – less
