The ultimate hospital to work for...period!
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee), Boston, MA –
Pros: great hospital, infinite selection of medical services, stellar reputation.
Cons: large specialty departments run inconsistently, nepotism
It took almost 6 years to get in, once there you never want to work anywhere else.
Only downside is extreme nepotism in hiring, specialty departments allowed to run according to their own policies and no consistency in enforcement of policy & procedure. HR is dirty in the sense that managers can find someone within HR to go outside the lines and back – more...  them up when there is questionable practices by managers toward junior staff. – less

A priviledge to graduate from, and work for MGH. It is the best!
Staff LPN (Former Employee), Boston, MA –
Pros: rewarding, stimulating, crazy but fun.
Cons: expensive area to park
One of the most interesting and educational hospitals in the world, maintaing exceptionally high standards in every way. Working as a secretary and then as a nurse enabled me to see how this all works. I loved every minute of my time there.

I left during a difficult pregnancy and did not return, but took with me their philosophies.
