About the role:
Shopping is a high growth area and we have big plans to increase user engagement and revenues in 2013. Mavatar is working on tremendous innovations around shopping. The Marketing Director/ User acquisition will be responsible for defining the marketing strategies and activities to drive awareness and adoption of shopping products.
You will be in charge of developing and driving measurable strategies to bring new customers to our products, and increasing usage and engagement among existing customers. Your focus will include driving trial and acquisition of new customers, activating dormant customers, and increasing usage among the existing base. In this role, you will be working closely with the product and operations teams to make product and user experience improvements that drive customer growth. You will need to analyze the results of marketing programs to optimize investment. You may also be managing or mentoring more junior team members on running campaigns & projects. The role enables you to shape the product development process, determine positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, shape the voice of the product and organize product launches from beginning to end and form future marketing strategy.
-Develop a comprehensive and aligned strategic marketing plan to communicate Mavatar brand and coordinate implementation with various internal and external teams
-Expertise in marketing analytics; build higher-level business insight on cause-and-effect, and measure/forecast progress of various efforts against goals
-Build and execute customer acquisition strategy and engagement initiatives in cross-functional teams.
-Perform customer segmentation analysis to align marketing efforts to specific groups of customers
-Work with agencies and internal teams to define branding, campaign development, and execution.
-Manage and develop marketing manager
-Working closely with the cross-functional team (PM, Sales, Ops, PR etc) to build a successful business.
-Continually assess competition and deliver ideas that will distinguish Mavatar from its competitors
-Masters degree or equivalent in Product Marketing experience, MBA preferred
-4+ years at management level in marketing, with online acquisition & e-commerce/mobile app experience.
-Creative flair to bring fresh ideas into product positioning and marketing campaigns.
-Analytical thinker with experience designing, running, and measuring online direct response campaigns & conducting funnel analysis.
-Strong project and budget management skills, preferably in a cross-functional capacity.
-Should be self-motivated and able to work effectively in an autonomous environment, proactive and persistent.
-User-centric focus on developing great consumer experiences.
-Affiliate marketing knowledge and experience a strong plus
