The company operates about 200 gas station/convenience stores with an adventure theme in seven western US states: Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming. The company aims to grow to number 300 stores in the coming years. The company is run by the third generation of the Call family and was founded by the late Reuel T. Call, who got into the petroleum business in the 1920s.
As part of the company's strategy, Maverik is adding more refrigerated space to stores in order to sell healthier options such as its Bon Fire chef salads. – less
