White Shirt (Current Employee) –  Long Island, NYFebruary 20, 2018
If you are a woman in the industry, never work for this terrible company. They do not care about their employees, especially not the female ones. If you have any respect for yourself, avoid at all costs !!!!!!!!

Don’t do it! Worst mistake of your life
Receptionist (Former Employee) –  Millwood, NYFebruary 20, 2018
These people only hire you if you’re Spanish . They don’t care about diversity: they pay nothing expect you to work Saturday’s and are a waste of time that’s why they always have job postings up! They have a high turnover rate!

Assistant Service Manager (Former Employee) –  Flemington, NJFebruary 9, 2018
this is one of the worst companies in the automotive business. I would never work for them again. They hire young kids that do not have any automotive knowledge at all to work on your car.

Manager (Former Employee) –  United StatesFebruary 6, 2018
Horrible sales tactics. Very shady company towards employees and customers. Do not care about employees families or the time they get to spend with them. Be prepared to be overworked and underpaid. Open 7 days a week . Managers are the only ones free of working Sundays.

Assistant Store Manager (Former Employee) –  Lackawanna, NY 14218January 20, 2018
A days work consisted of long 10 hour days sometimes 7 days a week, managers place 80% of the sales and workload on their assistants. Lunch breaks were considered a luxury.

Great company but immediate reporting manager no so
Automotive store/service manager (Current Employee) –  Union, NJJanuary 19, 2018
Great company with a good culture...inconsistancy with rules, policy and procedures. As a manager of the store you do not have control of the box...in a nutshell too many chiefs not enough Indians. The culture is biased and lacks true upper management leadership. No automotive experience is necessary and with that in mind imagine someone who knows nothing about cars telling someone with 15+years experience what to do when fixing cars..
Pros
5 day work weeks, benefits and discounts
Cons
As managwr of store you have to control...you are a svape goat at best

Alright place to work if it’s an only option
Alignment Technician/ Tire tech (Current Employee) –  Middletown, NYJanuary 18, 2018
Typical day started off with putting the balloons out, then you started reading tickets off the board and pulling customers vehicles in and writing up any repairs that were possibly needed aside from the work they came to the shop for. Overall wasn’t a bad job and the other coworkers were cool, management has little to no communication skills and that’s where you’ll start to realize it’s just a bunch of nobody’s wearing a white collared shirt pretending to be something they’re not.
Pros
Hour lunches, discounts

Mavis is a profitable buissness
Assistant Manager (Former Employee) –  Pawling, NYJanuary 8, 2018
Mavis makes money hand over fist. they have contracted prices with Advance auto parts to get brakes cheap. talking 20 for a set of pads and less than 40 per rotor then charge a customer 250 for the brake job but up sell the break flush that they don't do 90% of the time. brining your total to 330.

Mavis upper management is the problem with this company. store managers and assistant managers have to carry out there demands or they don't get there bonus they depend on to feed there family's

If you absolutely need a job this place will put some money in your pocket but it will cost you. 40-52 hours a week vary few holidays off and the day of only.

paycheck does cash

loose your morals

Poor managment of stores.
Mechanic (Former Employee) –  Queensbury, NYDecember 18, 2017
This company has very poor management skills. They offer a very poor wage for todays economy. Health benefits and other benefits are very expensive thru this company $100+ per week for insurance benefits. Management of the stores have poor relationship skills with employees working under them. This is a company that will NEVER allow you to make more than $13/hr.

I think Mavis as name brand company is good , but is way behind the times in computer tec.. It takes way to many steps to preform simple tasks for the customer build quality and for tracking customer history. Their IT department has a lot to be desired.
Pros
Company discount
Cons
Computer tec has to seriously upgraded

Assistant Manager (Current Employee) –  PANovember 26, 2017
Go elsewhere. They are cheap and do not want to spend money. Help is unqualified and little guidance from above. Work at Pep Boys or a national chain .
