Fun place to work. Good place to learn many skills
GENERAL MANAGER (Former Employee), Atlanta, GA –
Pros: great benefits
Cons: hours to work to really get the job done
I loved being given many opportunities to advance my skills. McDonald's is a place that you continue to learn many skills. It is hard work, requiring patience and the ability to multi-task.

1st ASSISTANT MANAGER (Current Employee), Legazpi City –
Pros: free meals, free unifroms
Cons: no seperation pay
I am the one monitoring the day to day operations of the restaurant in terms of quality, service and cleanliness. I am also tasked to report the monthly sales, gross profit and profit after controllabes of the restaurant. I lead the team on how to improve its overall operations.

I have handled maximum of 8 management staff and 60 crew size.

During – more...  my 11 years stay with the company I have learned the systems of training, scheduling, inventory management, planned and daily maintanance, marketing and food safety.

The hardest part of the job is people handling because you must learn how to deal with different kinds of people and their attitudes.

The most enjoyable in my job is to able to deal and mingle with customers and make them satisfy every time they come in the restaurant and leave with a smile. – less

Working as a manager was good.
Manager (Former Employee), Cedar Hill, TX –
Pros: had help, co-workers and store manager was helpful.
Cons: would have to work alone.
Started off as a cook and three months after became a manager. Managed six- eight people a day. Store manager was a nice and helpful person. Hardest Part was making sure everybody was doing what they were supposed to. The enjoyable times were when I was working over night serving customers and cleaning. I would also unload trucks and correct any problems – more...  in the system while doing inventory. – less

Productive but not Enjoyable
customer service (Former Employee), Otisville, MI –
Pros: discount on food.
Cons: not enough trust.
Always watched over. Felt as if I could not do my job and responsibilities with out someone watching over me. Co-workers were nice but seemed to have a certain a click that had authority or made them to cool to at some times. The hardest part of the day was lunch and dinner hours. There would be several people waiting to eat and i would be rushed to – more...  meet the customers needs as soon as possible. then, the most enjoyable part of the day would have to be closing. There would only be three co-workers, we would get along great, have fun, but at the same time we would keep working at a steady pace. the only reason I left McDonald's is because my senior year of high school was starting and I wanted to focus on my last year of school as much as I could. I did give the management a two week notice of my leaving. – less

Not what I expected
Crew (Current Employee), Callahan, FL –
Pros: benefits and good friends.
Cons: short breaks, getting yelled at, being called useless, not enough help on over nights, and not being trained properly.
Management is confusing, they do not properly train employee's. Crew is constantly getting yelled at which causes poor moral. Being called useless etc is not what I would want to be called.

it was a first job for me fast pace
Crew Member (Former Employee), Groveport, OH –
When I clocked in I would got to the cooking tables to prepare food and midway through shift i would move to service and work with people. I learned that when you go fast time moves faster. My management was too much at least 4 managers on spot with only about 12 workers so i didn't know who to answer too. Me and my co workers did not speak much but – more...  we got the work done. The hardest part of the job was the pace o worked. the most enjoyable was me working with so many people. – less

Great place to work as your first job!
Prep cook (Former Employee), Pearl Harbor, HI –
McDonalds is a well known business worldwide but this particular resturant was the best. I first started out as cashier, stocking, doing inventory all for the front. As I got the hang of the front my supervisor noticed as well. I then started doing drive thru, the fry station, helping a little with perparing the food, and then perparing the food myself. – more...  Sooner then I expected I was trained on closing the resturant on weekends. As soon as I graduated high school I was scheduled to close almost everynight. I gained more trust with all my managers, they then started training me to become a shift manager. I soon realized I wanted to further my education and applied for college. I got accetped and I couldn't work the hours they were scheduling me to further my training as shift manager. If I could go back I would have tried to manage the work load from school and work. I loved my first job! – less
