Cashier (Former Employee), Columbia, MOFebruary 28, 2014
Pros: customer interaction, income.
Cons: drama, to much contradiction.
typical day at work consisted of me showing up to help open the store, than take customers orders when they started coming in, followed by cleaning the bathrooms then going home. Some nights I would help close the store.

it changed what i did from day to day. One day i could be doing dishes all day or there where days where i could just be stocking the freezer or some thing so from day by day there wasn't really a certain thing i was assigned. management was good they always wanted to have things in order.

basic team member (Former Employee), Meridian, MSFebruary 4, 2014
I remember this job well. It was my first. I loved it and didn't want to quit it. It was fun and upbeat. My manager was very workable and nice and goal oriented. Very much about her customers. I learned a lot from this job and would work at another at any time. Would very much like to work again if given the opportunity.

Bad Work Environment
AREA DIRECTOR (Former Employee), Richmond, VAFebruary 3, 2014
Miller Group, USA would be the last place I would ever refer someone to if they were looking for a job. There is absolutely no quality in their upper management. Owners don't have a clue what's going on in their company. People are fired because of their race or sexual orientation or for no reason at all. Company blames it's people for the companies – more... short comings. – less

horseplaying and nonteamwork atmosphere
Cook (Former Employee), greenville, scJanuary 30, 2014
I really liked my job working at Mcalisters as a cook. my coworkers were always about horseplay, i wont say they didnt do there job but it was way too much playing around and laughing all while customers could hear what they were saying and everything. i thought that should have been enforced by management instead they were too friendly with the coworkers – more... and i feel that was a problem because some things were not said to them because of the employee/friend relationship. – less

Pros: employee discount
Cons: short hours
As with all companies, there are some really great employees, who are great to work with, and some not so great. Same with management. My only problem was that I was not getting enough hours to pay the bills.

Pros: genuine relationships built daily
Cons: small business atmosphere with little sophistication at the franchise level.
McAlister's Deli gave me the opportunity to engage daily with customers and create brand awareness about our company with the focus on building the guest excperience. We created an atmosphere that delivered genuine hospitatlity to our guests that generated an increased frequency of visits.

Good Concept, Poor Implementation of Values
Assistant Manager (Current Employee), West PlanoJanuary 20, 2014
Pros: free meals, competitive salary & bonuses
Cons: negative environment, poor communication
I started working for this company for their values of customer and employee treatment. The ideals coincided closely with my own beliefs, and I was looking for a good company like this. My experience was different from what I was told, and after several changes in Management, the most recent General Manager in my store had a drastically different management – more... style than I had been trained around. Some of the people hired around me were not up to the tasks required of their titles, and did not act professionally, using bad language, and slandering others behind their backs to forward their own career. This is not good business ethics. – less

Fun Energetic Lovely Place
Server (Current Employee), Portland, TXJanuary 15, 2014
Pros: great atmosphere, great customers, fast paced
Cons: long days, long hours, physically and mentally demanding
Overall it is a great place to work. Although it is fast paced and physically demanding, being front of house you are server, you bus tables, do dishes, cashier, and attend the window. At this job I learned great customer service tools for my future as well as interpersonal skills, multitasking, leading and organizational skills. I would definitely – more... recommend this job though for someone who is not going to school full time unless you work part time, hours are all over the place and sometimes you can work twelve hour days. Management and co-workers were great. – less
