They haven't fully adopted electronic document management. Everything is very unorganized. No support or training. Inconsistency makes things difficult. Every last man for himself environment.

Senior Legal Assistant to Partner (Former Employee) –  New York, NYSeptember 22, 2015
Provide administrative support to the team as well as assist other administrative staff as needed. The hardest part of the job would be to come up with a solution to a problem quickly and the most enjoyable was finding that solution quicker than expected.

Uncomfortable work environment. The firm seems unstable, there are changes and none for the good.
The information given to us has been false and it is difficult to believe. It might be time for a change

Interesting work.
Senior Associate (Current Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAMarch 18, 2014
A good firm, with nice people. It is a smaller office, so although it is a large firm it feels like a mid-sized one. Lots of opportunity for responsibility early on.

Horrible office, Menlo Park, CA
Former employee (Former Employee) –  Menlo ParkJanuary 11, 2014
Stay away from this firm if at all possible. The morale in the office is horrible due to management. Your job description will not be the job that you actually do and they will add more and more, but will not be compensated accordingly. Bonuses are paltry and do not match your reviews. Treat employees like second class citizens!

The behavior of Capital Partners are appalling, at best. Screaming shouting, but if they bring in the billing dollars, no repercussions at all.
Pros
Secretaries and most attorneys are great!
Cons
Worst Management in Menlo Park

Productive Work Place.
Legal File Clerk/Receptionist Relief (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CASeptember 18, 2012
I was responsible for checking in all the files that have been delivered to file room the night before, for the departments of, Estate Planning, Health, Corporate and Tax . Finish up all lose filing from the day before and start a new bunch until finished with current lose filling. While keeping current indexes on the file clips of court filed documents. Dead file any jackets that are up for offsite storage.
Days I would cover phones I would open the switch board. Directing all calls from voice mail to online. Take down or forward all voice mail left on main switch board to correct person. Keep up with current conference room request threw out the day. Including catering for lunch breakfast and sometimes dinner. Also confirming visiting attorney request for office and computer set up.
Pros
great health benifits, wonderful staff(secrataries, house keepers, paralegas)
Cons
not a very friendly inviroment, cold unlike the staff(secrataries, house keepers, paralegas)

Good Benefits; Poor HR Management
Paralegal (Former Employee) –  Irvine, CAJuly 3, 2012
Good benefits; HR has no handle on the staff, i.e., who the workers are--and they tend to make judgment on gossip. The staff that kisses up to HR keeps their positions.

Most of the attorneys are great to work with though. The firm continues to downsize and there is no job security--no matter how long you've been there--and no matter if you have had great reviews from the attorneys.
