driver (Former Employee) – Danville – April 7, 2014
On extra board when you start out and senior drivers pick and choose what loads they want and leave the low paying loads for the new guys. Constantly switching people you run with while on extra board. I was lucky enough to end up getting a route when I started after a few months. But after the six months was up time to rebid and ended up on extra board. Main disbacther had his favorites and would give guys below you better runs then offered to you. Benefits and pay was good. But when in sleeper berth on the elog you still had to help co driver unload at stops. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Selector (Former Employee) – Danville, IL – January 14, 2017
I worked with a lot of amazing people here. I am still friends with many of them today. The work was labor intensive and a good work out. The pay and benefits were great. I would definitely work there again if the opportunity arose.
Selector (Former Employee) – Northfield, MN – January 11, 2017
Worst place to work if you have a family. Hours suck. Work all holidays but Thanksgiving and Christmas. Management doesn't care at all about their employees. Supervisors have no clue what they are doing
Selector (Former Employee) – Lakewood, WA – January 6, 2017
Mclane was a horrible experience, there training process is a joke they don't have any organization with team members or product in warehouse and they only praise there drivers and loaders and leave the selectors with half working equipment and little to none resources when the selectors are the back bone to the whole company.
Horrible management and supervisors and poor pay for what you do.
Driver/Operator (Former Employee) – Lewisville, TX – January 3, 2017
I was with a company that mclanes acquired. Was terminated because they said our services were no longer needed. After 17 years thats what i get in return. No option to transfer to another office.. i appreciate the loyalty of a employer. Since i was loyal to my company.
Driver/Delivery/Dispatcher (Former Employee) – Orlando, FL – December 29, 2016
McLane Company is a great place to start a career. While in the transportation department, work will be always available and the pay is great. You will earn every penny, as this job is labor intensive.
Data Processor (Former Employee) – Haines City, FL – December 28, 2016
Do not trust anyone they claim to be your friend boom stab in the back. Management sits at his desk all day looking at his computer and answering phones just to brag about his company instead of getting involved with the employees and their jobs. Seniority is not given a thought unless you are the pet. The other McLane Companies may be different
Selector/Loader (Former Employee) – Lakewood, WA – December 22, 2016
A solid company with excellent entry level positions fair wages and superb benefits. Only flaw is the scheduling can be inconsistent during major seasons/holidays so you do not know when your shifts end or if you are working approved OT.
Delivery Driver (Current Employee) – Jessup, PA – December 21, 2016
As a current driver this is absolutely one of the worst places to work. Dispatch doesn't know what they're doing, transportation manager is just as clueless. For a company that "preaches safety" they could care less about their employees. Absolutely horrible place to work.. wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
Very long days with alot of hassle with the stores
Driver (Former Employee) – Glenwood, IL – December 16, 2016
No help with training experience and alot of Complaints with the other employees and not wanting to help. The mangement was poor in communicating with workers. The stores wasnt open for deliveries on time. Not good with family. I wasnt the best job for me but good pay every two weeks.
