Position Summary

The Director provides overall creative leadership for the agency and builds a positive environment for the development of the highest quality creative product. This individual represents the agency as the senior creative officer to clients, management, and industry. The CD leads the overall creative vision of the company and is the agency’s “creative face” to all of its clients.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Advertising, Marketing, and/or Journalism, Graphic Arts, Design, or Communications
  • Minimum 10 year’s creative management experience, strong credentials in copywriting and/or art direction, and a positive track record in the development of successful, market-moving creative ideas; extensive digital experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical/healthcare advertising industry
  • Advertising expertise specializing in branding, pharmaceutical/healthcare advertising
  • Experience having served as creative lead or creative supervisor in a pharmaceutical/healthcare advertising agency
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal, along with a strong comfort level in presentations, proposals and pitch work
  • Experienced in all aspects of both traditional and digital production
  • Excellent communication in the capacity of mentoring, counseling and leadership
  • Proven record of leadership by delivering superior creative solutions
  • * Ability to be a visionary who demonstrates thought leadership in the creative space
  • Proven ability to set direction and mobilize creative staff to meet challenging goals

Position Responsibilities

Demonstrates behavior expected of a professional member of the organization, including but not limited to:

  • Excellent concepting experience & abilities with strong proven strategic & brand development capabilities

o Write advertising strategies and tactical plans

  • Aid in new business development by providing creative strategic and program development insight
  • Creative team leader
  • Provide day-to-day management and communication to ensure expectations of deliverables are met
  • Staff management of Art Directors and designers, and oversee the creative department
  • Guide execution of creative product
  • Establish and ensure high standards of quality control for client deliverables are met
  • Develop and maintain strong effective client/vendor relationships
  • Ensure the department delivers on client expectations within financial budgets and time deadlines
  • Ability to help maintain and grow the creative team
  • Evaluate, mentor, and counsel direct reports. Determine assignments, promotions, and incentives for creative managers
  • Constantly work to improve communications and processes necessary for optimum creative output
  • Promote awareness and communication of creative successes both internally and externally
  • Create, build and maintain company creative reputation
