WJAR, Media General's NBC Affiliate in Cranston, RI, is looking for a highly motivated, self-starting individual to develop new business for its digital products and services such as mobile, social media solutions, and websites to local businesses.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with business owners to identify their needs, develop messages to reach their target market and make their business more successful. Responsibilities include but are not limited to meeting and exceeding aggressive sales goals and overall objectives, demonstrating the value of products and offerings, developing and selling online marketing campaigns using our products and solutions to meet clients' business needs, developing sales strategies prior to contacting designated markets, handling an aggressive schedule of daily sales contacts, and meeting and exceeding clients’ expectations.
Strong track record of success in business-to-business (B2B) sales; extensive prior experience with face-to-face and telephone cold-calling; Internet savvy; ability to develop and execute a strategic sales plan; achieve and exceed annual sales goals; commission driven background; strong relationship building skills and the demonstrated ability to close business; fearless can-do and positive attitude. Applicants should have a strong understanding of digital communication and emerging media. Some media experience including but not limited to print, online, radio or broadcast TV industries strongly preferred. Outside sales or marketing experience in a commission-driven background is also preferred, but not required. Must have a valid driver's license and safe driving record.
