JOB PURPOSE: Direct and oversee all activities within the inbound and outbound advertising sales center to consistently meet or exceed sales, revenue and performance metrics and objectives. Responsibilities will also include supervising employee development and customer satisfaction.

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of Sales Center employees
  • Drive sales and revenue initiatives to meet objectives
  • Accountable for ensuring that all SLA’s, both contractual and internal, as well as Company goals for profitability are prioritized and being met for all business units; take corrective action to address any shortfalls
  • Responsible for the establishment, implementation of and compliance with standard best practices and processes across the sales center; reevaluate as necessary for continuous improvement
  • Provide strategic planning for the sales center, create buy-in among the staff, and implement process and system improvements
  • Continuously motivate sales center by participating in the development and implementation of regular employee incentive and recognition programs
  • Supervise the direction and functions of the Training Department to ensure that personnel are receiving the necessary training to become effective in their position at time of hire, as well as ongoing development
  • Serve as a liaison between senior leadership and the sales center to cascade organizational strategies and goals to the sales center
  • Build a team environment through regular contact, communication, and meetings with sales center staff
  • Oversee that reporting and quality monitoring requirements are met in compliance with the requisite intervals
  • Collaborate with finance team in analyzing and setting monthly commission and bonus plans; ensure earned funds are processed in accordance with monthly payout cycle
  • Anticipate staffing needs based on seasonality and turnover; work with Human Resources to ensure staffing goals are met
  • Assist Sales and Project Management teams, with input from finance team, in determining staffing models for new business launches; right size teams as efficiencies are gained
  • Partner with IT to implement technology infrastructure, including the hardware, software, and telephony required
  • Work with IT department to trouble-shoot and resolve any sales center software or telephone interruptions
  • Interact with client publications as needed to resolve operational, IT/phone and customer service issues
  • Analyze and report on overall call center metrics as they relate to Key Performance Indicators
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide timely feedback to staff
  • Administer all levels of progressive corrective discipline as necessary, including terminations
  • Work with Sales Managers to ensure consistency in operating procedures on the sales floor


  • Bachelor's Degree required; Business Administration, Communications or Marketing preferred
  • Minimum of 5 (five) years of managerial experience with inbound and outbound sales required
  • At least 2 (two) years of experience managing in a call center environment of 100+ headcount
  • Proficiency in MS Office products such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is necessary; proficiency with Salesforce preferred
  • Ability to learn proprietary software system, multiple client front-end systems and other company specific software programs
  • Experience managing a Departmental Budget
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal, problem-solving and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage a variety of responsibilities simultaneously while being extremely well-organized and detailed orientated
  • Ability and desire to work effectively in a team environment
  • Experience with facilitating training, mentoring and developing personnel is necessary
