Job Work/Life Balance
The one job that will own you
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) – West Des Moines, IA – February 13, 2018
The co-workers are nice and supportive of each other. This is a good thing, because management has the strange idea that once you start there, they'll treat you like they own you. Do what they say, when they want it done, no questions asked. The open-door policy means they open the door when they terminate you. Make sure to ask permission if you want to go to lunch or take a break. If the customer is wrong or makes unreasonable demands, your supervisor won't back you up. And say anything to get the employee to accept the job or stay with company, whether it's truthful or not. You'll learn how to use the billing system and how to sell, but good luck getting the training you really need. And the phone system pumps calls to you every 30 seconds, which is not enough time to note the last call properly if the customer gets mad and hangs up on you. (Customers really hate Mediacom.) That pretty much sums up Mediacom in less than 1000 characters.
The company provided challenging work projects in a supportive environment.
Senior Marketing Analyst (Former Employee) – West Des Moines, IA – February 9, 2018
A typical day was a blend of assigned duties and ad-hoc projects. I expanded my knowledge of the marketing process including idea generation, campaign presentation and expense management. My vice president was a very intelligent and encouraging person. The culture was positive with a get it done now attitude. People were the most enjoyable part of the job.
Intelligenet and friendly colleagues. The benefits were excellent.
