If I were Charge RN on my shift I would begin with report from night charge rn of all 23 patients for our floor. Critical patients, patient needs, staffing needs. I would assign staff 4-5 patients per RN. Assist RN's and administration with tasks, needs, information.
If I were a floor RN, assessing patients, labs,x rays, history and physical, vital signs, discharge – more... plans, reporting patient needs to approptiate staff.
I have learned how to care for mutliple patients with varied needs, including:psyciatric, geriatric, adolescent, dialysis, stroke,
cardiac, detoxing, surgical patient and family centered care. Our floor had exceptional women and men working together to truely put patinent needs above all else. The most enjoyable part of my job was caring for patients and advocating for their needs. – less
