A place to establish a foundation
EMT-Basic (Current Employee), Skokie, ILMarch 9, 2014
A typical shift at work involves providing patient care to an individual in need of medical attention. I am one of the most important faces of my company. As an EMT-B I am responsible for providing excellent customer service to every client, the client's family, nurse, and anyone that requires service from the company. The most hardest part of the job – more... was becoming emotionally attached to some of my patients. – less

Great Environment
Quality Management Specialist/Trainer/Peer Advisor (Former Employee), Westminster, COJanuary 16, 2014
Pros: working relationships
Always learning something new. Advancement was always a possibility within departments. Co-workers were outstanding and always willing to jump in and help if needed. Calling Travel nurses was the hardest part of this job because even though they knew you would be calling for something they are required to keep updated they didn't always appreciate the – more... reminders. I loved the working environment and the people I worked with. – less

Travel Nurse
Recruiter, Jackie Nelson (Former Employee), Denver, CONovember 9, 2013
Pros: learning new things whether it was the job, staff or people.
Cons: having to leave after my assignment was over.
As a travel nurse you moved often from 13 week assignments to at times 6 month assignments. I didn't have a problem with moving and working at different hospitals when was great not having to get involved with the politics on the floor. I enjoyed working with many different cultures, learning about them and the people, including the staff and the area – more... in which they live in. The hardest part was the first couple of weeks learning the new computer system and where items where kept on the unit but the staff was always wonderful and helpful to me which made my stress level comfortable. – less

Able to find new travel positions quickly, friendly staff
Registered Nurse (Current Employee), New York, NYMarch 6, 2013
Pros: vacations in between assignments, able to work in different places
Cons: jumping around and not attaining any seniority benefits
I would be assigned to a hospital for a 3 month contract and things would be different depending on the hospital I was working with. In my experience people were very willing to work with me on scheduling and everything else. I learned to adapt quickly. The hardest part was leaving a hospital after just getting comfortable with the systems and the staff. – more... New experiences were the most enjoyable part of the job. – less

Pros: get to see the world
Cons: not very competitive rates, always on hold when you call in for a long time
This place was amazing. I had an amazing recruiter who was there for me when I needed someone to hear me complain. Not the best job if you are in a relationship unless your wife/husband plans to travel with you.
