I took great pride in running the front desk and appreciated the kindness and respect from the doctors and co-workers
Front Desk Supervisor (Former Employee), Phoenix, AZMay 12, 2012
The day started early making sure all charts had been prepared and ready for patient arrival. Was responsible for checking in patients, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, putting charts up for the doctors, answering phones and making appointments. Now and then there were patient problem that I assisted in resolving. I always enjoyed greeting patients – more... and making them feel welcome and comfortable in our office. – less

Records assistant (Former Employee), St MartinsJune 21, 2013
A typical day at work would be pulling, organizing and putting away medical files, collecting files for PA's etc.
My co-workers were very friendly and made me feel welcome from the first day.
The hours are a general 8-5.30, with 1 or 2 half days a week.

I am there to do my job and that is what I do. Focused on the task at hand.
Practice Accounts Manager (Current Employee), Pretoria EastMarch 14, 2013
Pros: flexibility with my time
Cons: insecurity of position - they are inclined to be inconsistent. keep on your toes at all times
Assisting patients when their accounts are in arrears and seeing how I am able to accommodate them in their situation. Assisting patients with medical aid queries and discrepancies. Informing patients of accounts being handed over. Sorting out discrepancies with medical aid payments. Receipting and allocation of payments. Month end, reconciliation of – more... accounts. What I have learnt is to keep record of all actions taken by myself regarding the accounts and patient / medical interaction.
Hardest part of my job is having to listen to the same excuses from patients when I threaten them with hand over. Also to get the receptionist to understand and commit to how important her role is to ensure that all details pertaining to patient are correctly captured on system and ensuring that the treatements are loaded correctly.
The most enjoyable part of my job - I enjoy interacting with the patients and medical aids and getting the results I am looking for. I also enjoy that I do have a bit of flexi time on my hands daily (lunch time) in order to play "moms taxi". In general I really enjoy my job as it is not tedious work, something different happens each day. – less
