Certified Nursing Assistant, Clyde, NC - February 18, 2015
Medwest was my first hospital CNA job. I learned a lot but will never go back. Out of all the people I worked with I can honestly say less then five people were helpful and kind. There was a lot of gossip and a lot of hatred amongst co-workers. There is a very dangerous ratio of patients to CNA and RN. Most days I had 22 patients to myself with very little help from RN's. The RN's had 6 to 8 patients but also most did not help the CNA with even vitals. It would take me 2 hrs to do vitals and we did vitals every four hours giving me almost no time to help with bathrooms, turning patients or anything else that was needed. Our manager was very aware of all of our problems and they were overwhelmed but I felt did not respond and correct many things that could have made big changes. The one nice things about working there was on my floor we were able to make our own schedule.
