Currently, MHC offers a comprehensive, integrated program of quality medical services under a primary care delivery system which emphasizes preventive health and wellness. Clinical services include: immunizations and early screening, family practice, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine, HIV/AIDS primary medical services, dental, medical laboratory, pediatrics, pharmacy, radiology, ophthalmology, homeless services, student health services, and podiatry. MHC has an array of support and enabling service programs inclusive of social services, case management, health education, transportation (at the rural location), Women, Infant and Children (WIC), family planning, Community Health Outreach Education Service Program, Community Network Program (CNP) cancer education and outreach program.
In its 2010 Uniform Data System (UDS) Report, MHC reported a total of 14,792 users and a total of 53,275 encounters. The user population was 93% African-Americans with 50% of the African-American users living at or below the federal poverty guidelines. 55% of its clients were uninsured; 64% percent were females; 14% were under the age of nineteen; and 5% were elderly. The largest category of MHC users are the 25-54 year old age group. The smallest group is the sixty-five years and older age group.
