Job Summary:

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Test Software Engineer to design PC based software to facilitate the design and manufacture of inertial sensor system products. The responsibilities include maintaining existing applications, written in C/C++, C# and Labview currently used in the Engineering Department. The applications involve controlling environmental and dynamic test systems such as rate tables, ovens, power supplies, vibration tables, etc., performing data acquisition on units under test (UUT), storing data in the appropriate database as well as performing real time analysis. This engineer will also establish an operational database for engineering and manufacturing. This relational database will contain data for DV (Design Validation) and PV (Process Validation) testing. The engineer will need to interact with the end users (technicians and engineers) to design the applications.


  • Design and implement applications for the testing of sensors and sensor systems
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of the principles, concepts and theories of system design and programming for various test software systems which may require the development of software test requirements for new products to meet the guidelines of complex test specifications
  • Support of existing applications as well as development of new versions for new product lines
  • Perform design, maintenance, enhancement, testing, implementation, and support of software for both manufacturing and engineering
  • Execute module, subsystem and system level testing along with complete documentation
  • Perform intra-network administration, programming, real-time data analysis, graphic user interface design and development, modeling and simulation analysis
  • Develop a database system (SQL or Access) to interface with the test software systems
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned


  • Expert C/C++ and in particular C# development skills
  • Experience in designing automated test applications
  • Experience with National Instruments development platforms including Labview and Measurement Studio
  • Experience in developing applications using various communications protocols including RS-232, SPI, USB
  • Knowledge of SQL and/or Access database programming
  • Must be a self-starter and self-motivating individual
  • Must be capable of working in a team
  • Must be capable of training and generating training material for end users (technicians and engineers)

Education and Experience:

  • Education: BS or MS in Computer Science or related Technical Field
  • Years of Experience: 5+
