CMM Operator/Quality Technician

Excellent entry/advanced-level opportunity for a detailed individual to grow with a team-oriented
medical device manufacturing company, located in a southern suburbs.

Lakeville, MN

Job Status:
Full-time, non-exempt

Wage:
Dependent on experience and qualifications

Summary:
The primary role of the CMM Operator is to support machinist staff by performing
First Article/Start-Up inspections using a Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) or MicroVu (VMM).

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect parts (with CMM or VMM) that are staged for First Article, Start-Up, or In-Process
  • Keep CMM/VMM equipment and accessories clean and organized
  • Coordinate with machinists to adjust inspection priorities as needed
  • Review machine schedules daily and ensure CMM/VMM programs are ready for machinists
  • Work with CMM/VMM programmers to create truncated “AQL” inspection programs
  • Provide input and refinement of all QC inspection processes
  • Create customer certification packages as needed

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Knowledge of GD&T and/or inspection methods
  • Able to read and understand engineering prints
  • Able to accurately use inspection equipment
  • Technical training in the use of height gages, Profilometer, Comparator, and

hand tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gages, etc…)

  • Basic math required
  • Geometry and Trigonometry preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software: Excel, Outlook, and Word

Education and Experience:

  • Two-year associate degree, vocational training, or equivalent experience required
  • Technical training in the utilization of CMM and/or VMM equipment
  • Some experience in an ISO regulated manufacturing environment helpful (custom medical device contract manufacturing preferred)
