Certified Pharmacy Technician (Former Employee), Manhattan,Kansas – December 10, 2012
Pros: good environment and food cleanliness of work place.
Cons: politcial, disciplinary problems, management, high turn-over rate.
A typical day of work was having no one talk to you and trying to learn the job as a pharmacy technician with everyone working against you and lead technician never having anything to do with you, never training, even upon asking all while trying to deliver medication to pharmacy stations in hospital. Learned about politicalness in hospital work environment – more... and if you didnt fit the click you were let go, intimidation from employees being in the job for a long time, discrimination, people treating you rudely in a healthcare environment and, management never disciplining other people in management for harassing behavior upon employee. Management is political and has disciplinary problems. Co-workers are told to fit in the click and intimidated. The hardest part of the job is to realize this is a healthcare industry a hospital where patient care is the focus and to realize being employed here is another story. Realizing that politicalness rules over patient care here and it is not about your skill or the patients at all. If you do not attend the local college your not a good fit. The most enjoyable part of the job learning the job-though it was on my own and getting more information on the internet than what they provided even after going to management along with eating in the cafeteria and seeing gift shop. – less
